simblr new years 2025/2026
Thank you @igglemouse for including me in these. I'm gonna mash up this one with another recent one, and change it around a little, since they're kind of similar and because there are no more months left in this year. 😆
What is one sims-related thing you’re proud of from 2025?
Chapter 5.5 from Boxes and Squares. I had concerns about going so heavy in a sims story—which has never really stopped me before, but it always gives me pause, because I know that’s not the kind of stuff most people like on here. And, well, it kind of landed like a whisper instead of a bang. That’s okay. I'm still proud of the work I did on it, and I'm proud of how it came out in the end, both the writing and the images I was able to get. It was the nugget of story I saw in my head that we've been driving towards since I started writing this thing like two years ago! As many times as I wanted to quit, I always told myself that I need to finish it out to at least this part, so that this first arc of the story could feel complete.
And now I have, so now I can quit. 😆

What is one non-sims-related thing you’re proud of from 2025?
It’s probably not cool to talk about money, so vague details are vague, but my little side gig hustle that I’ve been picking at for ~10 years had a notable financial milestone this year! 💰
I’m proud of myself for learning something new and being modestly successful at it. It feels good to have something financially viable (you know, unlike the book royalties, lol!), especially as a mostly-SAHM for the better part of almost 20 years. I’m hoping 2026 brings the same energy.
What is one sims-related goal you have for 2026?
More gameplay!!! Like, all the stories I’ve done, and there’s so much gameplay in this game I haven’t played with yet! So my goal for 2026 is to make more time for gameplay, either between story chapters, or in other more gameplay-focused storytelling.
And I keep saying I’m going to share some builds, so let’s make that happen, too!
What is one non-sims-related goal you have for 2026?
I want to continue the practice of feeling okay about taking breaks to unplug and step away and remember all my other hobbies and interests and the whole wide world out there, especially when I get in my feelings about stuff on here. Remember that this is not a job, and it’s supposed to be fun.
And get some focus back on my non-sims writing, which I said I was gonna do in 2025, but that didn’t happen. 🫠
