Into The Badlands-Oliver Stark whump
Still trying to figure out how to compile clips. Sorry it's all over the place😅
I have been a whumper since before I learned the term, which was from the SGA fandom and the amazing Shep Whump fanfic authors.
When I was younger, my Barbies and Beanie Babies would go on grand adventures and of course someone always got injured :). I used to constantly daydream about my favorite characters getting hurt and comforted (it’s still the only way I can fall asleep sometimes).
There’s something so beautiful about breaking a character down and then re-building them. You glimpse a side of the whumpee you normally wouldn’t see and see a different side of the comforter, too. Everyone becomes stripped down to their true selves.
Side Note: I was going through old papers recently and came across an 10+ year old entry explaining why I liked to hurt characters. I may have been a baby whumper, but I still stand by my words.
“I love it when characters get hurt. That’s when you see everyone’s loyalties. I love to see heroes fall because that’s when you are truly able to see him or her. That’s when you get to see who they really are.”
I love whump and thought it was time I dedicated an entire blog to it. I’ve been around for a while. You may better know me by my main blog @dancingwerewolf.
I enjoy male and lady whump so I’ll be posting both and tagging each accordingly. I also recently learned how to gif and will be trying to gif my favorite whump scenes to share with everyone (time to dig-up my old dvds and try to find my old vhs shows online).
The Twin (2017)
Through mistaken identity this guy is held in a mental facility and must try to escape to save his girlfriend. There is some cheesy parts with the bad guy but purely by whump, this movie is fantastic!
The Twin (2017)
This has one of my favorite tropes. Forced incarceration in a hospital and forced sedation. There was like 2 other scenes like this just as whumpy. There was some cheesy parts and predictable plots but the whump 10/10👌
Also free on Tubi.
Home School Eps 1
Run is trying to escape from captivity but is caught, restrained and drugged.
If you're wondering how good a series is for whump, just watch the first couple minutes. And my man Run here is basically put through the ringer this entire series.
You can find this Thai drama on Youtube and I'd highly recommend it if you like captivity, insane villains, being drugged, and a little torture on the side.
The Collector
After surviving a horrific blood bath, Arkin finally gets to ride to the Hospital. But his ordeal isn't over. His ambulance is turned over and the Collector comes for him. He's determined to add him to his collection.
The Vampire Diaries 7x17
Stefan is thrust into the body of an alcoholic and must battle withdrawal, frostbite, and fatigue.
This might just be my favorite episode of TVD because of when Stefan and Damon are talking about playing Hide and Seek when they were young and Stefan says "Because you're never going to find me." And then collapses, and then you see Damon's headlights!! So emotional!
Also LOTS of whump this episode.
Blade Runner 2049
"Because you've never seen a miracle."
LOVE SOME RYAN GOSLING WHUMP!
