Zomato, one of the leading food delivery company of India has introduced 10 days 'Period leaves' per year to it's female as well as it's transgender employees. In a country where menstruation is still considered as a stigma and women are compelled to lead an isolated life during menstruating period, such a step coming from a leading company is definitely welcoming. While there are countries in the world where period leave is mandatory as per their labor code like Japan, Taiwan, South Korea, Vietnam, etc, India is yet to make progress in this regard.
