Nea X Feng headcanons
Nea and Feng have been together for years, and their relationship is a staple at the survivor camp. That doesn't mean it's boring by any means, though; neither of the women are afraid to challenge each other and themselves.
They keep themselves busy and their relationship fun, whether it be with dares in trials, poking good-natured fun at each other at the campfire, or teaming up to play practical jokes on their unsuspecting friends.
They don't need much alone time, savoring their time together even if it's spent with the group. Nea usually does most of the talking as Feng isn't much of a people person, but Feng finds it easier to bond with their friends with her girlfriend acting as a buffer between them.
That being said, Feng gets jealous easily. She always tries to hide it, but she gets visibly huffy and in a sour mood whenever Nea gets a little too touchy with some of the others; even if it’s just hugging Claudette or slapping Steve on the back. Nea likes to tease her about it, but between the lines she’s always reassuring that Feng has nothing to worry about.
Nea has always been a drifter, constantly looking for a purpose in her life. Before Feng, there wasn’t much purpose to be found in the realm, and Nea became almost indifferent to the trials, the Entity’s whispers getting louder in her head. Now that she has Feng, she’s found the meaning of her new life; she’s going to do whatever it takes to get both of them out of there.
Feng is bad at expressing her true feelings, so used to only getting criticism from her parents or a lecture from her coach for showing weakness. It takes her a long time, but with Nea’s influence, she manages to tear down some of the emotional walls she’s built up over the years. Knowing her girlfriend will be there for her no matter what—whether Feng is yelling about the trials, crying from homesickness, or planting a surprise kiss on Nea’s cheek—gives her life a stability she never had before.
Nea is the kind of person Feng always thought was unattainable for her; a street smart punk, having plenty of stories to share and always surrounded by friends way cooler than a nerd like Feng. Feng once let it slip that Nea is the kind of character she’d always create in a modern RPG, making Nea grin like the Cheshire cat and tease Feng about liking bad girls.
Despite their different interests, Nea is known to very openly admire Feng’s skill and determination. She may not have been that into video games, but also never had the passion to make something of herself the way Feng did. “Did you know my girlfriend was a top 20 worldwide e-sports player? She’s so fucking badass,” is not an unusual sentiment heard at the campfire.
