What should I call this post?

!!! Okay, so I am in Mer!former hell right now. I’m still sick and I’ve been home for a few days, and literally seventy percent of my time has been spent reading Mer!formers fanfic. Blame a few people here on Tumblr and a few people on AO3.

When I first got onto Tumblr I saw Mer!AU art and I was like “ew gross I don’t like that at all”. Recently, I found a fic that was my first real introduction into the Mer!AU and I fell in love. I checked out the other works by this amazing author, mainly their series “Fins and Feet” and I’m,,, dying,,,!! But the good kind of dying!!

Now I’m just laying here on my couch sprawled out thinking “wow I really am in love with the Mer!AU”. Every aspect of it I just love to bits. One of main things I like is that theirs a human aspect of it but there’s also an animal aspect to it all also, and I really love that kind of thing(which is why I love dragons a lot too(I should see if I can find some Dragonformers fics and blah)).

I know I’m babbling a bit but eh whatever. I just find it interesting and fascinating that a person can go from not liking this thing, mainly because they don’t know anything about it and are just labeling it, and then when they get a real introduction to it they realize they actually really enjoy that thing. I don’t know, it’s just cool to me.

Also,,, I love seafood,, such as white fish(rockfish halibut tuna etc), crab, shrimp, but I don’t get to eat them a whole lot which makes me sad. I’ve never had lobster before, which also makes me sad. I love the beach too and admittedly I like the ocean, even though I don’t like some of the stuff in it. I love collecting pretty shells and rocks and making things from stuff I find on the beach and “scavenging” and “foraging” and literally digging clams and shit from the sand cause I’m five years old.

Alright, I’m done now. I’ll be around if anyone wants to pop by and say hello or maybe send a little request for a short fic in? Yeah whatever. Have a nice day/night. Ciao~

His tentacles itched as they healed and regrew, it was still hard to swim around though their tank was very nice. And at the moment most of the caretakers were else were. So in short he was bored, never a good thing. "Jetfireeee." Entertain me little brother.

“Go away.” Jetfire mumbled, his own tentacles waving lazily in the false current that was generated by the filtration system… interesting things, those. Surface dwellers were clever at the same time they were annoying. “M’busy.”

Napping. Obviously.

There wasn’t a lot he could remember about how he got here. Or where ‘here’ was, exactly. He remembered pain, a larger, more powerful mer beating mercilessly at him. Sharkmers. Nasty tempers. What’d he do to frag it off? He couldn’t remember. It was all a blur beside the pain. He could remember that clearly. Floating… had he been floating? Probably. He couldn’t swim very far. Everything had hurt and he was losing too much energon. 

Something had him. Panic. Brief flashes of the sky and waves… a boat- he’d fought, of course. No mer was ever dragged aboard a landvessel without a fight. Something sharp in his side. Another… then it’d been blessedly dark.

Frankly, he’s surprised he’s alive. Was he alive? The powerful, dark blue tail pushed at the water once and he winced as dulled pain shot up his spine. He certainly felt alive. Everything was hazy, too bright and too dark all at once. Red optics shuttered again, closing out the light for a moment and that was a bit better. He was floating again, but it wasn’t the churning, pushing of waves. More like a soft current of resistance. Right.

Couldn’t stay asleep when he didn’t know where he was. That was almost as dangerous as taking on that Sharkmer. Stupider too. He forced his optics back online and took looked away from the light to gather strength to turn. The long thin membraned fins on his back fluttered out to catch the water like sail, then immeditaly pulled tight to his body again.

No. That didn’t feel good at all. His optics were starting to clear, though and that was better than nothing. Hazy shapes began to come into focus, at least enough to make them out. Even if they still felt muted. Rocks, sand… even kelp. 

“Ngh…” He pushed his arm out, clawed digits snagging a rock and pulling to bring him closer to the safety of the sand versus the push of open water. Where was he?

I couldn’t find a specific picture, but I know I’ve seen the Mer! before and I love all of them. I used to hate any kind of outlandish AU’s but not that I’m a little older I like to see he brain children that people always seem to be coming up with~ And ANY form of Jazz is wonderful in my book.
