Here he is! I redrew one of the first posts I made here- and the first picture I drew of my Mer Ryley- originally called my fish au Ryley lol.

So my discord wanted their characters as Mers, and well, we started a storyline, sooo. 

This is Darling, a horned mer. She was a loner for a while before wandering into Ryley’s territory. She was nesting at the time, so they allowed her to stay. 

Natiqua ran away from her pod, as she wasn’t treated very well. Her mother was a hunter and her father a drowned. A drowned is a cannibalistic mer, and the pod blamed her for his crimes. 

Ki is a young orphan mer, who was found by Darling with Dank. They were hiding in a cave, because Dank had gotten sick. Darling nursed them back to health, and they followed her. Dank is a child who was abandoned, though purposely or accidentally isn’t known.

Para is Darling’s son. His coloration is from his father, but most of his bioluminescence patterns are from his mom. He has horn like she does, but they’re much smaller and are hidden by his hair. 

This version of Ryley- unlike the other version- was born and raised a mer. However his pod disliked him, leaving him to die when his throat became injured as a child. He managed to drag himself to the shallows, where he survived and has lived since.
