cringe culture's dead so what if i became a onceler fangirl because he checks so many boxes for characters i love:

underwritten but has potential

my french teacher just called north african food “ethnic cuisine” and said couscous is also called tabbouleh (couscous is like a type of pasta while tabbouleh is a whole ass dish) and i know it’s petty but both of those things really piss me off

predictions for that dear evan hansen movie because i am 100% gonna see it in theaters

-one of three things will happen to the soundtrack

1) it's no longer a musical, and they pull a mulan 2020 by playing waving through a window every five seconds

2) they take out most of the numbers except for the iconic ones (waving through a window, you will be found, etc.)

3) the least likely in my opinion, they keep all the songs and add one or two new ones to chase the best original song award at the oscars (idk how i feel about ben platt getting an egot tbh)

-if sincerely, me is in the movie, it's gonna be altered/censored a significant amount

-evan and connor are both going to be made out to be better people than they are (if they go for fewer songs, this might mean requiem and good for you get cut)

overall, i'm betting it'll be decent to mediocre as a movie, a little generic in spots. but i also think it's gonna be a terrible adaptation of the musical.

ignoring that ben platt looks so out of place playing a 17 year old boy when he's like 29, i think it's gonna be watered down, essentially what a random person thinks dear evan hansen is about after hearing it through a game of telephone.

if it's true, i can say i told you so :)
