used a photo for reference I can't find again-- if I do find it I'll link it in the comments
Some people seem to be under the impression that the main goal of playing ttrpgs are things like “obtaining loot” or “slaying monsters” when the real purpose ttrpgs is to make up a guy and give them issues and then see exactly how those issues are exacerbated when they’re put into Situations and what it takes for them to hit their breaking point
Happy Pride Month!!
Revolutionizing the field of d&d by being the first unreliable narrator DM
Feel somehow real Though we are merely players
merely players and all in are direct parallels of each other
“but playing’s real when you commit to danger” vs “even when the world is mad baby i’m all in”
“there's nothing that we can't feel we just got to move on in give everything without fear” vs “i know we’re both afraid but baby that’s ok”
+ the dances follow some of the same choreography
+ the instrumental melody from merely players plays during the kiss at the end
Merely Players.
Where it all began.
These two... I can't say it enough that there is some damn good representation happening here! I think it was mentioned in an interview (I could be wrong) that LGBTQ representation happens in very little in the genre's they are 'merely players' in. Westerns, musicals, actions movies..
I LIVE For Lydia's Dancing in the Rain dress.
Also, in their song they talk about Love, Fear and Anger. And though it isnt in the same order, I would just like to point out that they go through each step.
Fear... "You're Scared" scene. 'Nough said.
Anger... Cynthia at the Fall Ball in general. The way she acts with Shy guy, how she dances in Hand Jive. The drink she has after. I found it all to be very angry.
Love... The hall of mirrors with Lydia. Going all in, so to speak.
