Progress on my Merida (epilogue scene) dress. The applique is FINALLY done, as are the miles of gold trim that border it. I also added a thinner gold trim to the neck. There’s still a lot to do, but I’m very glad to be done with the applique: it was difficult (especially since I didn’t have any fusible webbing) and frustrating. Fortunatley the grey applique looks good. The trim on the neckline is a little wrinkled, but I think I can fix it . . . by obscuring it with the grommets that I’ll be adding later.
Mondays...
Getting nostalgic. I made this costume late in 2013, and went to what I think was my first proper photoshoot in February 2014. I’m looking forward to remaking this costume soon.
My first ever attempt at cosplay! My sister took these pictures for me for my birthday. It was a long day and I completely ran out of spoons but it was so much fun! I got the dress from Holy Clothing, bow and arrow set from Amazon, belt/leggings from Walmart, and my other sister let me borrow her dagger.
I was a cheap version of Merida for my housemates 20th on Saturday
I managed to begin this costume. Luckily I had enough of the black fabric to make the dress.
Why am I posting random Merdia cosplay pictures? 'Cause my kid sister is adorable, that's why! We are almost 20 years apart in age but cosplay is something that lets us bond. Most of my family cosplays in fact. You can see all 7 of us strutting our stuff HERE.
I restyled one of my old wigs for her and my other sister supervised while little Miss Zoey sewed her own dress from donated fabric. Our brother helped her through together a quick bow and and found an old quiver for her to borrow. Cheap, fast, and easy cosplaying.
