Near Solitude I had need of a horse, and was told I could purchase one from a local farm. There I met a young stable boy, an orphan after his parents died fighting for the Empire. The farm’s owners were kind enough to feed him in exchange for work but simply didn’t have the room to provide the type of home he needed. I, on the other hand, had a home in Whiterun all to myself. Without a second thought I offered to take him home. I would be gone long hours (even days) at a time, but he would have shelter from the cold rain, a soft bed, and food always. He accepted, so I gave him a key and saw him on a carriage before continuing my journey on horseback.
