okay so I have not been deep in Narnia fandom but the set of edits you just posted have made me want to read some Caspian/Peter. Do you have like a starter set of fic recommendations?

okay SO. there's a hell of a lot of very good fics & authors in my bookmarks on ao3 but i would like to specifically call out some rly good canonverse ones i adore/think r a good place to start (imo canonverse is always the best way to start w a ship but we have some lovely aus as well):

so great & beautiful by fahye is prob the only marginally suspian fic i'll ever allow in my life but it's just so good, the caspeter makes me crazy, the caspian makes me crazy, and i think everyone needs to read more second person fic Neow.

to want wrong things by angelike is a Classic in the way of silver chair fixits, i think of it often

wait for me (i'm coming too) by chaosconfusion RUINED MY FUCKING LIFE i love it so much and think about it and start crying sometimes

home by grim_lupine is a CLASSIC prince caspian fixit i love it saur much and i used to read it in the closet at my old job and cry. don't laugh

first love, never die by chameleonsd1sh is actually one of the first caspeter fics i ever read which sealed my doom

Buck doesn’t know how he ended up alone in the kitchen with Helena Diaz, but it definitely wasn’t by choice.  At least, not by his choice. He’s pretty sure she orchestrated it somehow.  Which, he knows, makes it sound more sinister than it is. It’s just. Well.  They’ve been polite and cordial with each other so far this visit, but Buck has definitely gotten the impression that the Diaz parents are not thrilled with his presence in the house.  It’s one thing to be around for a dinner or a lunch, maybe, but Buck is there all the time. Because, of course, he lives here. And Eddie has made it very clear that Buck is as much a part of this household as he and Chris. He’d scoffed when Buck suggested he crash at Maddie’s for the week.  (“Buck,” Eddie had leveled him with one of his patented Buck Looks: a soft fondness in his gaze accompanied by a warm hand on Buck’s shoulder, thumb pressed gently into his collarbone. “I’m not kicking you out of our house for my parents. They’re staying in a hotel, anyway, and they already know you’re living here. If they’re uncomfortable, they can just leave.”  Buck had nodded, throat tight. “Okay,” he’d said, his brain trying to process the way Eddie had emphasized our).  Anyway, the point is that while things have been technically fine, he’s not totally surprised that she seems to have seized on the opportunity to talk to him without Eddie or Christopher present.

Probably a solid C! I don’t really go looking for it, largely I usually like it better in theory than in execution, and I get way too opinionated way too fast on what the right changes are re: gender impact on backgrounds, appearance, and various plot points. 😅 I’ve def picked at my own versions of this trope in past fandoms/ships, but nothing has ever come to fruition.
