Bored so I drew some mermercs They ~somewhat~ match up to the sizes of the species they're based off of?? Heavy is bigger than anyone else and Medic is v smol compared to the others, tho he's rather long

I mainly made him a loch ness monster because Scout is already part sailfish (commonly called a swordfish) and I didn't want two of the same species but also, now that you bring it up, the idea of Demo being a saw nosed shark on the other hand... 👀👀

Crocodiles in general aren't exactly graceful on land but they can manage well enough There's a lot of myths about saltwater crocodile running speeds but from what I can narrow down 17 kph/11 mph is the most accurate average. Like all animals some are much faster but in GENERAL, yanno

Hey, Good Afternoon. Did that Soldier/Zhanna submission get to your inbox, or do I need to resend it again? Just wanted to know because that was sent around 12 am, making my own memory pretty hazy. Didn’t want to deprive you of the fanart you deserve. What other concepts do you have in your 5 million wips? Do the gravel wars still occur in the mermercs universe? What does Ubercharge look like for the mermercs? Do you think your mermercs could defeat the actual tf mercs in one night sneak attack?

I’VE GOTTEN IT! I’m gonna post it and my response right after this! Rambling after the cut 

My WIPs are all kinda scattered across all the fandoms I’m in (which is a lot) and I’m trash for crossovers so I play with a lot of dumb ideas in my head. Not many of them make it to art but a couple make it to google docs where I usually end up abandoning them real quick. Most of them qualify as crack fics tbh. Lately my abandoned WIPs consist of TF2, The Hobbit, and some personal stuff with ocs and original content

As far as the mermercs go, I’ve played with their universe a bit in my head, and basically yeah, kind of! Instead of the Gravel Wars - though it’s still a territory dispute - they’re just fighting over who gets to live in this one specific stretch of ocean. It’s likely a cove somewhere in the Gulf of Mexico. Partially because Sniper NEEDS land, he’s a saltwater crocodile, not a fish, he breaths air and he can’t swim forever. Otherwise because the rest of the gang probably needs some less salty water to swim in every now and then. Scout is actually the only one of them whose fishy side is meant to live in saltwater.

I haven’t really thought much about Ubercharge but I don’t really see it existing much in this universe? Mermaids won’t exactly have much technology. Though the idea of there being a magical version somehow might work

Not gonna lie though, there’s not really a way the mermercs could fight the human ones. Sniper’s the only one who can reliably go on land and the others are waterlocked. I guess if the humans went out on a boat they could..? But in that case all it would take is the mermercs capsizing the boat to kill them rather easily. Basically the humans are sure to win on land and the mermaids are sure to win in the water, just because that’s where they live.

At first I just wanted to draw the reverse version of my previous Sharksniper and Seahorsescout and than accidently  the other mercs happened.
