Ask Alyan - Qupid
Favorite t-shirt of hers that was once her boyfriend’s? - submitted by Qupid
Aly blinked sleepily up at the ceiling and yawned, arching her back and stretching both arms and legs until soft pops of tension released down her back. She sinks back into the mattress with a soft content sigh and wiggles her toes just because she can. A glance through the window confirmed the sun was not quite up, yet the space beside her was cool...Merser long since gone on one errand or another. She rolled onto her stomach, burying her face once again in the pillow, wishing for another hour of sleep if possible.
A few moments of heartily cursing her wakeful mind and the coolness of the sheet on her skin, and she gave the effort up as an exercise in futility. She sat up, shoving a hand through the tangles of her tawny hair and kicked aside the sheet, standing with a grumble. Her skin prickled, goose flesh raising where the breeze kissed it. The trouble with living with a ghost is you tend to adopt the ghost's habits even if you really don't want to...and this ghost rarely slept more than a few hours at a time!
Several minutes spent scrounging through her wardrobe produced what she was looking for, a well worn, faded t-shirt that would have made even a poor rag at this point, with stretched seams and bare spots one could see through, but wear it over a black tank top and cargo pants and it worked perfectly...that comfort outfit you reached for when you felt a little insecure, a little lonely, a little less than normal. She wondered if Merser even remembered the t-shirt given that it was a good 10 years old, and they hadn't even been dating at the point when she'd stolen it. Knowing him, he let her keep it simply because it amused him on some random level...there were levels to the man that he thought she wasn't aware of...more that she was content to let him believe it...she protected him in ways different than those that he used to keep her safe.
Snuggled into the soft cotton, she flung open the door and paused to take a deep cleansing breath of morning air before stepping out to meet the new day.
