It’s that time of year. The snow is falling (all right it was more of a rainy drizzle), the Christmas lights are up (we have one of those projectors no one is going up a ladder to hang lights), the gifts are wrapped (most of them)…

I’m stocking my queue with merthur posts, getting the tissues ready, proofreading my @merthurweek2023 fic and getting ready to sob!! It’s the holidays! Merthur week starts Monday! Time to start trending and make tumblr remember why we’re the once and future fandom!

BBC Merlin Summer Camp AU

literally nobody asked for this, but seeing as I’m a camp counselor, and terribly addicted to this show, I decided to do my due diligence and make this post. 

This only includes Merlin, Arthur, and the knights, so if you want other characters lemme know, I’d be more than happy to make another post like this one! :)

Lastly, since this is mostly the knights, I had such a hard time not making them all just do camp sports. So please keep an open mind!

Merlin

head of music

plays acoustic guitar, and his go-to song is My Sweet Lord by George Harrison (he can always get the campers to sing the call and response part with him)

listens to way too much Led Zeppelin & Fleet Foxes

loves counselor pranks, and always aims at Arthur (obviously)

somehow can name every single plant on the campgrounds

always needs to go pee

(ignore the watermark from pic collage 🙄)

Arthur Pendragon

the big man in charge, so he does basically everything

obsessed with fencing, and will fence with any camper who is brave enough and challenges him with a stick (he lets them win)

has like seven different water bottles, and claims he needs all seven because they “all have different uses”.

also has three fans in his cabin facing his bed

lets Merlin play music over a loudspeaker to wake up the campers in the morning (he can’t say no to Merlin like... ever)

secretly dating Merlin, not even the counselors know

Gwaine

head of rock climbing & high ropes

has successfully helped every camper with a fear of heights to overcome it

all the girl campers either have a crush on him or Arthur

keeps snacks in his cabin, despite them being banned (wandering bears)

has the stinkiest feet you’ll ever wish you didn’t smell

helps clean up after dinner every day, even if it’s not his day on KP

Lancelot (Lance)

head of hiking

asks Merlin to teach him what each of the plants are on the camp grounds

listens to David Bowie on the DL

gets cold easily but will never admit it to anyone

the only other counselor who knows that Merlin & Arthur are dating

reads Tolkien

Elyan

head lifeguard

also in charge of kayaks, canoes, and boating in general

would gladly take any camper fishing

helps with the counselor pranks, usually teams up with Merlin (they are an unbeatable pair, especially if they get Gwaine in on it)

the best at breaking up fights (between both campers and counselors)

Star Wars nerd 

Leon

head of crafts (like survival tools crafts. he teaches basketry, wood carving, braiding leather cord into bracelets, etc)

the best at dealing with homesick campers (the most approachable of the counselors)

drinks 5 gallons of herbal tea a day

hates the counselor pranks. rolls his eyes at every single one of them

an absolute god at cribbage. he always beats Arthur and Gwaine, even if they are teaming up against him

loves stargazing, and shows the campers where the constellations are

Percival (Percy)

head of archery, but since archery isn’t every day, he helps Gwaine with climbing/high ropes

doesn’t know what’s going on like 90% of the time

always helps reach high things, and move heavy things

loves to build the fires, even though it’s technically Arthur’s job (who lets him do it every other night)

drinks green smoothies daily (no one knows how he gets them)

tries to flirt with Gwaine, which always fails horribly

This honestly took much longer than expected coz the series is pretty lengthy, and Arthur HARDLY ever thanks Merlin😂

But surprisingly, after completing the vid, I realised Arthur is actually immensely grateful for Merlin, and does make an effort to let him know from time to time🥺

Not that I thought he was ungrateful, but I just thought he was a bit bad at expressing it
