For Naomi, it feels like Tatsuo has sold out and has changed the entirety of who he is to be fully latch onto a guy that he’s only been talking to for a few months. She doesn’t understand where this change in him came from and feels like she doesn’t know her best friend anymore.

But for Tatsuo, it just seems that Naomi is angry that he’s found someone that makes him happy. When everything else in his life is falling apart, Valentin makes him feel seen. It feels like Naomi is only content when everyone else around her is miserable.

Are they completely wrong about each other? Could they both be sort of right? That’s not something they’re prepared to face right now. Wilhem only hopes that they can come to their senses soon; he hates seeing his best friends fight.

Never let them see you sweat! Naomi really went in hard on grilling Valentin. She’s definitely rough around the edges, but it’s only because she really cares for Tatsuo and doesn’t want him to get hurt. Valentin knows this, and doesn’t have it in him to be mean back, so he tries to take the high road.

But Tatsuo really stuck up for him to his friends and was able to turn the evening around. It means a lot to him that he likes Valentin this much!

Each date that Valentin gets with Tatsuo is a gift! That being said, it definitely caught him off guard when Tatsuo’s friends showed up to the movie theater! Of course he wants to make a good impression, but... Naomi is very scary!

Since home isn’t the safest place to talk about his feelings, Tatsuo decided to open up to his best friends about his date with Valentin at Naomi’s house. 

He expected Naomi to disapprove, simply because of who Valentin’s friends are. Ever the pessimist, Naomi tells him to not get too attached and to guard his heart. Then there’s Wilhem who, while he means well, isn’t really the best at giving advice on relationships.

Even though his home life is an absolute mess, at least Tatsuo has his friends. Naomi and Wilhem are always there to listen to him when he wants to vent and distract him when he doesn’t. 

Naomi takes pride in being an outcast and it’s a shock that Wilhem stuck around long enough to break through her tough exterior. She pushes most people away, so it’s no surprise that she has no interest in prom or any other high school festivities. Thankfully, she has her boys to stick by her.
