Recently I was in a mood to draw Ryuga... but failed horribly and moved on to Tsubasa instead 😅 And while searching for the reference screenshots I found a scan of his manga version, got interested and oh boy, did I learn a lot!
Turns out our beloved eagle-man's appearance is completely different in manga, in which - his Sonic blue hair is longer and let lose & he has a vermilion jacket with black elements as well as pure black gloves and his eyes are light greish-blueish. In manga he also keeps his bey in these belt-pocket thingies like majority of the bladers.
But the things that surprised and honestly impressed me is that apparently during his battles in manga he keeps his eyes closed so he can focus more on foreseeing his opponents moves by simply listening?! And he opens his eyes only when facing someone he considers powerful enough??? That's just so amazing!??
I haven't gotten to the Battle Bladers/Big Bang Bladers arc yet but from what I gather his style of fight is completely changed. I wonder why he was altered so much😶
And so here are the two versions of Otori!
I kinda ruined his jacket though 😅
//Creator of Beyblade Betal Fight is Takafumi Adachi//
really felt like drawing today. So here is a chibi Ryuga!
I decided to make a little comic about how Ryuga and Doji first met, and how he got Ryuga into the Dark Nebula. Part 1: Ryuga is Shopping for a new Bey! Tell me what you think how it continues!

2OF13 presents: Fracture
A long-gestating idea becomes a full-on, faith-driven track that blends heavy textures with a personal origin story.
“Fracture,” is an intense and powerful new single from 2OF13. The band’s name may still be new to many listeners, but the song itself carries a longer history, one that stretches back to an early guitar idea written years before the group had the means or momentum to record it properly. That origin point remains embedded in the track’s structure, giving it a feeling of something rediscovered and brought to life with newfound energy.
2OF13's sound is perfectly described as that of a “garage band in outer space.” and this line captures the feel of the music perfectly. "Capture" is a really great example of that: its backbone is raw and impactful, while there is still room for texture and ambiance. The band pulls from metal, grunge, alternative rock, and punk, without settling into any one tradition for long. Instead of smoothing those influences into a single tone, the band allows them to sit side by side, creating friction that becomes part of the appeal. Fans of fuzzy guitar textures and big dynamics (the music has a great quite-to-loud contrast happening in the mix), this one is most definitely for you. The recording process reflects that same sense of immediacy. Much of the guitar work was tracked in a single night, a detail that explains the song’s raw, unfiltered energy. There is little sense of over-editing or excessive layering. Instead, the performance leans into instinct, capturing the moment rather than refining it away. The drums, recorded later, bring a different kind of intensity. Jace’s playing is direct and forceful, but it also shows restraint in the right places, allowing the track to breathe between its heavier passages. There is a sense of purpose in the recording, which comes from the band letting God in as a guiding force, allowing every take to hit right where it should.
The mix does not aim for polish as much as presence. Guitars are thick but not overly compressed, drums cut through without dominating, and the vocals sit slightly within the instrumentation rather than above it. This balance keeps the focus on the collective sound rather than any single element, aligning with the band’s collaborative approach.
In a landscape where genre blending is often treated as a selling point, 2OF13 approaches it more as a natural outcome of their influences. The result is a track that feels less concerned with fitting into a category and more interested in documenting a process, both musical and personal. At the same time, the band’s broader message sits just beneath the surface. 2OF13 frames their work as an expression of faith, and while “Fracture” does not present that message in explicit terms, it informs the tone of the performance. The intensity of the track feels less like anger and more like searching, a push toward clarity that never quite resolves within the song’s runtime. The imagery suggests miscommunication and emotional distance, with small, almost surreal details that interrupt any straightforward reading. References to lost objects and strange exchanges create a sense of disorientation, as if the speaker is trying to piece together a conversation that no longer makes sense.
Fans of classic bands such as Nirvana, Mudhoney or Dinosaur Jr. will definitely be into this. However, it's also highly recommended to listeners who love the new generation of grunge bands and listen to underground artists like Dead Rituals or Phantom Bay, among others.
Find out more and listen.
We also had the chance to ask the band a few questions as well: keep reading to learn more!
The core guitar idea for “Fracture” dates back several years. What changed between when it was first written and when it finally felt ready to record? When Fracture was first written I was heavily influenced by Nirvana. It had a solo reminiscent of “Come As You Are”. I played it on my acoustic all the time before I had any electric guitars, and I absolutely loved and felt it had some potential for something. Fracture now was actually a song I had forgotten about. I recorded many other demos of new music but one of my close best friends said I should record fracture, and I was like man you’re right. Later that week I went to his house and stayed the night. Our drummer Jace was there too and starting out with that clean intro was like home to me, I knew that riff like that back of my hand. We then took that riff and went off of it because we don’t really like much repetition we like to keep things fresh but keep some sense of similarity. That’s why the verse and chorus sound somewhat like the intro. Jace helped pitch the bridge part we were messing around and we were heavy into loathe and I took the chords and moved them around till we found “those” chords, the type to just make you feel like youre floating or something. Then we kept those same chords for the outro, Fracture is really a culmination of all the music we love in one short little package.
Your sound pulls from metal, grunge, and alternative influences. How do those different styles tend to meet in your writing process without feeling forced into a single lane? We really go off of feel when it comes to genres, fracture really came smoothly to us and I thank God for that entirely, only through Him was this able to happen. There were parts I would finish and I would say what should come next? Almost as from a listeners point of view, what would they expect? And then other times we want to do the exact opposite like with the bridge of fracture. It also pulls from me and Jace’s music taste. I love a lot more 90s and 00s music whereas he is more into modern day music when it comes to metal, which I think blends pretty well together.
Much of the guitar was recorded in a single night. What was going through your mind during that session, and how did that immediacy shape the final version of the track? I was honestly thinking how can I get this right? How can we make this song I’ve always wanted it to be? So I went to God and let Him lead me in writing this song, and I think it’s the best work we have written on. I want to say that night I was working on another track before fracture and then I stayed up late that night tracking it all. I couldn’t go to sleep because it was so fresh and new all of the creativity happening I couldn’t sleep on it. I had to record it all and capture that moment. I thank God for it all He truly brought his all together, He truly did.
The drums were tracked later and feel like a key part of the song’s intensity. What kind of direction was given to Jace, and how did his performance evolve during recording? Fracture’s original drums were actually sample drums and thats how they were gonna be. I sampled basically anywhere I could get drums, and I almost hired someone to drum as well. At the time we had no way of recording drums, no microphones or triggers, the only thing I could record was guitar. The more I tried getting the right drums I realized God was pointing me towards Jace drumming so I went all in on recording and got the equipment to record Jace’s drumming. Just a little after the equipment arrived I went over to Jace’s house and we started recording. We prayed before starting and let God guide us fully on how it should sound. I didn’t have to tell Jace really on how it should go, I let him have control and he nailed it in probably 3 or 4 takes. I thank Jesus for that because it sounded exactly how I wanted it to sound, even better honestly. God was leading him to me and it was amazing to watch. I don’t know if you can hear it in the song now but Jace’s dog Jingle was barking while we were recording and you could hear it in the background in the early drafts of the song. We decoded to keep it, because why not. All in all God really guided us and guided Jace on this song. All glory to Jesus.
“Fracture” uses fragmented imagery and shifting perspectives in its lyrics. What themes or emotional states were you trying to express through that approach? The lyrics in Fracture don’t add up because it was me in different times of my life, the lyric up until the outro have no real meaning my friend who I mentioned earlier came up with some lyrics for me and I went off of those, I feel that was God leading me in a way because these lyrics are fun and kind of goofy if you really think about it. When it gets to the outro it’s a different story. I wasn’t having the best day and I wanted to put lyrics on the outro because on the single version of fracture the outro is just an outro no lyrics. So I screamed how I felt, I feel those lyrics at the end are true emotion because that’s what they are. Frustration, anger and guilt because i wasn’t being in my relationship with God at that time i was putting God off and I felt it and I hated it and I just wanted to go back to God. So in those last screams I’m saying “Forgive me” because I was tired of this feeling of feeling distant from God I knew I had sinned but I know the grace of Jesus is more than all of my mistakes and falls and it is the same do all of you that feel distant or empty Jesus is there for you and He will forgive you and love you always.
Your music openly reflects a relationship with God. How does faith influence your songwriting decisions in practice, especially when shaping something as intense and emotionally charged as “Fracture”? Faith is everything to me and our music, me and Jace are followers of Jesus and we want to spread our music and lift up anyone that feels small or beat down or lost Jesus is with you no matter what. In songwriting we let God take the wheel we pray and we let God take control on big me small decisions because his plan and will is the best plan and will and I pray everyone reading this gives Jesus a chance. You won’t regret it.
