Zeus, the last born of child-swallowing Kronos and holy-mother Rhea, was enamored by the young, willful Metis. She is sister to the Okeanids and the ancient Potamoi, the daughter of eternal Okeanos and glittering Tethys. A prophecy foretold that the son of Metis and Zeus would grow to be more powerful than his father. Terrified of this prospect and with no other alternative to what he already knew, Zeus swallowed his consort, who then lodged in his head. She gave birth to their child, a daughter, Athena.
Athena is the half-sister to Zeus’s deathless children: Apollo, Artemis, Hermes, Persephone, and Dionysos.

Instead of forcing Athena into romantic relationships that don’t make sense, why not explore Metis and Brontes relationship?
My personal headcanon is that Metis escaped from Zeus’s head the same time Athena did and went into hiding to live with Brontes and bore Porus.
