Leo had never thought anything of it.

When Raph had thrown old Skully at him and his brothers for them to catch, when it broke, and even when Mikey somehow managed to fix the chip in the tea pot with a Jupiter Jim figure. 

He did most definitely think of something when Splinter started to walk away and he felt a sudden, sharp pain in his foot. 

He hissed at the pain, and his brothers (Raph especially) were swarming around him to see what was wrong. When Leo looked at his foot, he saw a tiny little cut. Raph started panicking because he was hurt. Mikey tried to calm him down, telling him that Leo would be okay because it was only a small cut, and Donnie was looking around to see how Leo got the cut.

Eventually, Donnie explained that there was most likely nothing to worry about because Leo had probably just accidentally stepped on the piece of the tea pot. Raph breathed a very audible sigh of relief, and Leo thought that that made quite a bit of sense.

The only reason he had a bit of doubt in the back of his mind was because...well, he didn't see the piece...

Oh well, it was probably just kicked away by accident. I mean, there was nowhere else it could have gone! 

And you know what? Leo wishes so badly that he could go back in time. Back in time to before he stepped on the piece. 

But he can't. And he will forever hate his younger self for thinking so little of it. Sure, he was just a child, and it makes sense that he wouldn't know any better! 

But he has no idea the amount of pain he caused himself that day just by pushing off his worries as nothing.

Because there was somewhere else it could've gone.

Silence. He couldn't hear anything besides his head beat increasing. The demon choked back a sob as he looked up at the sky, looking at the source the fire. Allen, his love was destroying everything he could see in New Rome. Viktor flew up on a rooftop and landed on the top highest part. He made sure he wasn't crying as he wiped the black goo off his mouth and under his nose before he softly called out to Allen, “ моя любовь, Феникс? What are you doing, why.” He calmed down his emotions and tried to focus on helping Nadia, who's therapy session ended not that long ago. He needed to keep her safe, and he needed to calm Allen.
