Just a PSA for my fellow hunters in Wilds!
Capcom announced that in an effort to stop cheaters, anyone caught with mods AND ANYONE IN A HUNT WITH THEM WHEN CAUGHT will have their account BANNED.
It is currently not safe to play online with randoms, which ruins the fun of Monster Hunter in my opinion.
I literally just built a set for supportive co-op and joined a squad for helping randoms with the strongest monsters in the game. And this ruined it!!
I'm hoping Capcom changes their mind and fixes this decision, but for now do not trust playing with randoms, remove all mods or cheats you have if you care for your account (I think you would care if you're doing cosmetic/game improvement type mods??) and if you want to, voice your feelings (respectfully) to Capcom's social media/the Steam update page.
The cheats that affect the leaderboard have existed for years and never caused a problem besides player annoyance before. The *issue* is the global leaderboard and the exclusive pendants, if both were axed or altered to be easier to obtain, the cheating wouldn't be such a huge deal. I called it at the announcement of it, and we're seeing it now.
