With the rest of the power switched off in the whole apartment building, Davin was struggling to find anything to keep his mind off the sweltering heat that was practically consuming him. Ever since the storm broke out, the power in his apartment had blown out shortly after the winds picked up, so he had been suffering without air conditioning since. He managed to stop by the gym a few times throughout the past few days, but it was becoming unbearable to go from sweating in the gym to continuously sweating throughout the whole day. While sitting in your apartment with little to no clothes on was enjoyable, it was becoming the most uncomfortable thing that Davin could ever do. So, he decided to treat himself to a day in the pool along with the other hundreds of people who decided to do the same. Despite the pool being filled with people, all shoulder to shoulder, he managed to find a decent spot to soak in for a while before he decided that it was unbearable and he needed to head up to his apartment to grab something to eat. There was nothing worse than being uncomfortably warm and hungry at the same time. With a quick run-through of his towel on his hair, Davin slipped on his shoes and headed towards the exit of the pool doors.
As he approached the elevator, it hadn’t even occurred to him that they wouldn’t work considering the power was out. With an annoyed groan, he pushed himself through the door that led him to the steps and quickly started to run down them. As he reached the eighth floor, he remembered that Bentley was cooped up on this floor, so he figured he would go make sure that her and Cope were doing okay during this heatwave. Ever since the storm happened, he hadn’t really spoken with her because the reception in the building was extremely wonky and he couldn’t deny that he heat was causing him to be a bit cranky; he didn’t want to slip up with her and show her any ounce of attitude, nor did he want to even bother her while she struggled to get herself and Cope through the heat and the damage the storm caused. While the floor he lived on suffered from a power outage and bursting pipes and some water damage, he was completely clueless as to what the other floors were suffering from. As he was walking the hallway to get to her door, he heard some commotion coming from the door that was definitely hers. Quickly, he jogged on over to her door and he was thankful that she had kept her door cracked. “Bentley?” He called out as he invited himself inside. He stood in her doorway, stupidly running his towel over his chest as he looked around. He hadn’t actually been inside her apartment yet, so he felt guilty for barging on in despite her approving of him stopping on by whenever. “Hey, I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to storm on in, but is everything okay? Where are even are you?” he yelled with a short laugh.
