Growing up there wasn’t really any sense of queer community at all where I was, and then around the time I was like eighteen I moved in with my best friend Mae Whitman. It was such an open, creative environment there I was sort of able to finally discover myself, and my life really changed after that. I found my pride in creativity and doing exactly what I wanted for myself and no one else.
