I like to go for walks or listen to music honestly and I used to go out for drives a lot to let my mind wander but I prefer to take night rides if anything. Sketching/drawing is good, writing, reading, cooking maybe or I like to play my guitar or a game. Horror movies really help me but it might not do the same for you and I do  try to keep myself preoccupied. Also, talking with someone does help if the sadness and stress isn’t overbearing.
