Hiii everyone, this is a little project I have been obsessively toiling over for the past week. I finally got it to wooooork Q_Q Amara's hairstyle now can be used by the player!

Amara's Hair For Player

Allows the player to use Amara's hairstyle (dyeable). Replaces the bob hairstyle. Also comes in 4 versions: Normal, No bangs, Longer, and Longer + No bangs.

Read a short sentence theory earlier on how "Amara might have been superimposing Simon onto the prince" and now I can't get it out of my head.

Missing your child so badly that you cave and end up agreeing to take this other small child with you to the Sacrosanctum, all because they look so much like your son when they look at your tiny rathalos with nothing but fascination in their eyes. Teaching them about crystallization and monsters, like a Ranger would, like you'd done for your own child, because this one is also so eager to learn. Passing them your most precious possession and begging them to live because in your last hazy moments when you thought your life was ending, you thought the one screaming that they can't leave you there alone is your son.

Do you think Amara ever saw Kris as Kris, truly? Or was he always just a ghost of the child she had to leave behind in the dead of night, because she knew that he'd beg to go with her if even given half the chance. "Our child... will be fine," but who is she really comforting? Arken? Or herself?

Everyone is just chasing ghosts.

My Mother Doesn't Remember My Name Anymore

The decision to have Amara's eyes so blatantly 'obvious' is because her eyes were the thing that tipped me off that the unnamed Scrivener was her- the reason that Kämmersen doesn't recognize her in spite of this blatant sign is because of her lack of horns and, of course, being under the impression that she's dead. Dead people don't come back.

I've changed Amara's story very slightly so that, when she and Simon were attacked by Aenshin, her horns got caught and she developed crystals along the cornucopia. She was pushed to have them removed before the crystals could spread.

I decided to give Amara some wrinkles because I have no idea why the game kept her looking almost exactly the same lmfao

mhs3 endgame spoilers

it kind of eats me alive the way he says 'it's me... it's Kris'. the last time he used that name was probably with amara herself and seeing her again is making him relive the person he used to be even if she can't remember him. he blamed himself for her death and believes that his best friend would/does hate him for it while resenting them for the time they got to spend with her. simon having imprinted so strongly on this woman who saved him and his village and offered hope to stop Aenshin and crystallization and her letting him go with her, feeling important and connected and being so kind to him, telling him about her child and all the things she knows. and then suddenly being all alone except for her monsties and suddenly everything is different and scary again and he changes his whole identity to try and escape the past and be brave enough to do what he thinks he needs to, which is to avenge her.

only to see her again and know she won't know him by how he looks, because he's changed so much, he's sharper, darker, looks cruel and cold and he hates how his reflection has become this, but he's still Kris. she'll know him if he says this, right? she was like a mother to him. she'll know him by Kris.

I feel like whenever there's an amnesia subplot they often end with the person getting their memories back.

Not Amara. She doesn't get them back. She's still the same Amara, but she doesn't remember who she was.

Amara is genuinely one of my favorite characters... I knew I'd love her the moment she was introduced. It was so, so, so bittersweet, yet I'm so happy she gets to follow her dream and passion unburdened by her past.

Amara, I love seeing you happy and free.
