How many fics did you write this year?
6 complete works + 1 WIP that's still missing the last few chapters and I hope I can finish it in January
How many words did you write this year?
It was much more than that because not everything I wrote made it out haha But what I posted was about 150k.
Did you try anything new this year? (New fandom? New pairing? New language?)
Yes, I had only written Muggle AUs before. 2025 was my first year dipping my toes in the magical world! I wrote a canon divergence in cursed heaven and in my latest Christmas one shot moony's magical cocoa mix. I also wrote teenagers at hogwarts for the first time in meet me in the middle, which was immensely fun.
Did you participate in any fests/events during the year?
I think almost everything I wrote this year was for a fest haha That's something I'll be trying to change next year. I'm still doing @old-dogs-fest and @marauders-sci-fi-month, and those should come out on the first couple months of 2026. But after that, I really want to take a break and let my creativity flow by its own for a while.
Anyway, in 2025, I wrote:
someone worth keeping (~40k so far) for @maraudersromcomfest
cursed heaven (45k) for @moonyfest
meet me in the middle (25k) for @rsbigbang
and moony's magical cocoa mix (6k) for a winter exchange
Which is the funniest fic you have written this year?
I think it's either give me all your poison (an one shot where they are twitter enemies) or meet me in the middle. I think both of those have my prefered level of petty arguing and bickering like an old married couple, and I love when wolfstar does that.
Which is the angstiest fic you have written this year?
I think it's someone worth keeping, probably. Lots of grief talk on that one (but it's also very sweet and domestic!)
Which is the steamiest fic you have written this year?
I was very tame with my smut this year (something I wish to correct in 2026). 2024 was much kinkier hahaha but from 2025, I think it's cursed heaven for sure.
Which is your most valuable writing lesson learned this year?
Fests are fun, but if all the writing you're doing is on a schedule and has a deadline, you'll loose your whimsy. The most fun I have writing a fic is when inspiration hits out of nowhere and I just allow myself to jump into it and enjoy the creative energy. If I have a bunch of deadlines looming over me, I just say "I'll write that after I finish this one" and that makes me loose momentum.
What do you look forward to writing next year?
I hope I can write something over 100k next year. That's my personal goal.
