Michael Clifford Imagine
Happy Birthday
So nothing was going right for me at the moment. I currently stood in my tiny kitchen, leaning against the counter, Y/B/F, standing in front of me as I try not to have a meltdown. Taking deeply needed breaths she handed me a glass of water which I could only imagine was wine.
"You have to tell him." She moved back to the other side of the kitchen. "He has to know.
"But what if he doesn't-" I cut myself off.
"He'd be crazy if he didn't want you... want you both." She smiled at me. "Come on. Go and give him your present." She all but pushed me out of the kitchen.
Before we got the back door to go out to the patio where the boys sat drinking a beer in celebration for Michael's birthday, I overheard a bit of their conversation and stopped.
"-like I want more then 1, mostly because I know how much it sucks growing up an only child." Michael said to the boys.
"I totally get that. But not brothers, they suck." Luke laughed with the other boys.
"Well sisters aren't any better." Calum took a swig of his beer. "Have you been in my room?" He tried to sound like Mali.
"Where'd you put my hairbrush?" Ashton joined in with his own girly voice.
"Get out of the bathroom, I need to do my makeup!" Calum laughed.
"Maybe you guys just got unlucky." Michael laughed taking a long sip of his beer.
"You got that right." Luke laughed. "2 older brothers is unlucky."
"Have you talked to Y/N about having kids?" Ashton suddenly asked.
"No." Michael got a little quieter as I stained to hear then. "I don't know, I feel like maybe she would think were too young or something about my career and a baby stopping that, you know."
"Well, you can just talk about it for now." Calum looked around as the others nodded, confirming that.
"You'd be a great dad Michael. Little hell bent on punk rock, but a great dad." Ashton laughed.
"Imagine like 4 or 5 little Michael and Y/N's, running around... you'd never have a quiet moment of your life ever again." Luke laughed, causing the others to laugh.
"Go now." Y/B/F, pushed you a little out the door, causing the laughter to die down.
"Okay..." I smiled. "Present time." I said as Michael pulled me onto his lap.
"Sweet." Michael smiled. "Who's first?"
Getting through everyone's present was fairly quick... well too quick for me. Michael held me on his lap the entire process of him opening his presents. By the end Y/B/F handed me mine, a simple red envelope. Everyone looked slightly confused, considering I usually went all out on presents.
"I know, it looks like I'm the worst girlfriend ever right now." I nervously laughed. "But just open it and read it."
"Okay then." Michael said taking the envelope.
Opening it, he pulled out a small piece of white paper folded in half. He opened it and read quietly to himself what I had written;
Michael...
I hope that next year on your birthday all three of us can celebrate it together. I love you and hope you have a great birthday after this surprise.
Y/N xx
Michael's frowned, obviously confused and read the small piece of paper three maybe four more times. Looking up at me he looked lost, and all I could do was smile nervously.
"3." I said a little more confidently.
"What did she get you?" Calum's voice carried over the heavy silence.
"Yeah. Tickets to somewhere amazing? A new car?" Ashton asked with a slight laugh.
"No." Michael said. "I don't actually know what she got me." He said looking into my eyes.
"I want 3. It's a perfect number really." I smiled thinking about it. "And we've already started."
"3 what?" Michael asked.
Without saying a word, I took his hand, moving the envelope and paper onto the table behind me now. I placed his hand onto my stomach just over the 4 month bump that had formed. Michael's eyes widened, his breath catching, his hand behind my back holding onto me a little bit more tightly.
"Fuck me." Michael breathed out.
"I did. And look where that's gotten us." I laughed as he pulled me down to kiss him.
His lips were soft, but the intensity of what he was saying was heard. He loved me and I loved him and we would both love this baby. Pushing his forehead onto mine, he looked down between us to where his head still sat.
"So, what she get you?" Luke asked, impatiently waiting to see what I had gotten Michael.
"Well..." I said turning to look at the rest of the boys. "It'll be here in about 4-5 months. And loud and messy and cute." I smiled.
"I'm gonna be a dad." Michael whispered into my ear as he leaned his chin onto my shoulder.
"What was that?" Ashton asked.
"I'm gonna be a dad. Like there is a baby growing inside of Y/N right now." Michael all but shouted.
It took all of 5 seconds for the boys to react. Beers forgotten, cheers and congratulations were given, but Michael refused to let me go. And maybe we'd be alright, maybe I didn't have anything to be worried about anymore.
