What the Hell is with Roseanne?

Since when did the loudmouth, liberal, feminist, respectful of others woman become a loudmouth, conservative, racist, supporter of Trump who is the total opposite of everything she used to stand for? What the hell happened? How did she completely flip her views so suddenly like that?

It makes no sense to me. I grew up with Roseanne. Roseanne, who always talked about things that were important and stood up for what was right. Roseanne, who talked about things that I cared about and was a mirror image of me and my family.

I used to completely adore Roseanne Barr, and even more so Roseanne Conner. Her show is still one of my favourites in the world. But now it’s tainted with racism and bigotry (which they had an episode about and clearly stated that it WAS NOT okay) and nearly makes me burst into tears when I watch it because that’s in no way what she stands for anymore.

I don’t know if anyone is as upset as I am, but I had to say something. Thanks Roseanne, you’ve ruined it for everyone. I was interested in learning about Mark and Harris and DJ’s wife and daughter. I wanted to see if Darlene and David would eventually get back together. I wanted to see more of Jackie and Bev’s arguments. I wanted to see more of Dan and Darlene and Becky and DJ and Nancy and Crystal and Chuck and Anne Marie, all of whom I was waiting the whole time to show up.

So good job, I’ll never get to see those actors as my favourite characters again unless I go watch reruns. You have no idea how devastated I am, to see my favourite show cancelled, especially in this way.

But, she got what she deserved. What she said was disgusting, and of course she should have been cancelled.

But, in the words of the season 9 theme song, what doesn’t kill us is making us stronger. Now, time for a new show without her so that the rest of the cast can still have the reboot they wanted. How about "Darlene" or "Jackie"? Sounds good to me, Roseanne stopped being funny when she stopped being a decent human being.

‘Roseanne’

Like it or not, the Conner family is back. in yet another reboot of a popular series from the past (the original series ran from 1988-1997). All of the original cast are here, including Roseanne Barr, John Goodman, Laurie Metcalf, Sara Gilbert, Lecy Goranson and Michael Fishman. Even Sarah Chalke, who took over the role of Becky late in the series will return. The most promising element is the fact that the writers' room featured comedians Whitney Cummings and Wanda Sykes. Season premiere, 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 27, on ABC.
