June 5, 1985, the Danish national football (soccer) team defeated the Soviet Union 4 -2 in a qualifier for the 1986 World Cup. Danish stars Preben Elkjær (pictured) and Michael Laudrup scored twice each. I don’t think I’ve ever watched a more exciting game on TV, although the golden period of Danish soccer stretched up until 1992...
Michael Laudrup won consecutive El Clásico’s for both clubs, helping FC Barcelona beat Real Madrid 5-0, before signing for Real Madrid, and helping them beat FC Barcelona, also 5-0!
