“Yes, she's deserving of sympathy,”
“but her actions cannot be encouraged.”
(Heartless prosecutor?)
“Do you feel yourself a little too hard-hearted?”
“Was wondering if you're still considering pleading down to manslaughter?”
“I don't quite understand…”
“I just don't want to waste taxpayers' money.”
“I'll tell my client! And you can rest assured I'll try my best to convince her!”

The Closer / Major Crimes: Michael Tao [ISTJ]
OFFICIAL TYPING by Charity / The Mod
Functional Order: Si-Te-Fi-Ne
Perceiving Functional Axis:
Introverted Sensing (Si) / Extroverted Intuition (Ne)
Tao loves details, and emphasizes them in all his communications -- he has a methodical approach to gathering evidence and forming conclusions, preferring to collect sufficient information before using it to form theories. He feels most comfortable in areas with which he has extensive experience (police work) and does not bother to exert himself in situations where he has nothing to draw upon (in one episode, when someone assumes he knows Mandarin due to his heritage and asks him to tell a buss full of Chinese tourists to shut up, he does just that -- in English). He is open to his son trying out different lifestyles and ambitions, provided he finishes college first. His inferior Ne shows when Tao becomes paranoid and fearful under intense pressure; he likes to theorize on the job, but has little patience for “useless” ideas.
Judging Functional Axis:
Extroverted Thinking (Te) / Introverted Feeling (Fi)
His intent is to solve a crime, close the case, and move on, but his motives are based in an intense sense of moral right and wrong. Tao is a hard-working man, who can easily share information with others, although he tends toward too “technical” of communication sometimes (“English, Tao!” Provensa shouts) and must simplify it for laymen unfamiliar with his technology. Even though things touch him very deeply, Tao prefers to adopt a businesslike demeanor rather than become emotional. Two cases bring his emotions unexpectedly to the forefront, one in a partner who betrayed his trust, and the other a crime he did not solve.
Hogwarts House: Hufflepuff
House Traits: hard work, patience, loyalty, and fair play.
Tao more than anyone else on the team believes in working long hours, in putting everything he has into the job, and in being patient as he follows clues to their inevitable conclusions. Personal mistakes and misjudgments, especially those that do others harm, haunt him... and he is unabashedly loyal to the handful of people that earn his trust.
Transparent Michael Tao
We can never be together, just like the sun will never rise from the West and the stars cannot be seen in the daylight. This is the hard truth.
