Why Humans Like to Cry: Tragedy, Evolution, and the Brain by Michael Trimble
Synopsis: Human beings are the only species to have evolved the trait of emotional crying. We weep at tragedies in our lives and in those of others – remarkably even when they are fictional characters in film, opera, music, novels, and theatre. Why have we developed art forms – most powerfully, music – which move us to…

The word e-motion is six-sevenths motion, and there is a response to harmonic motion, the tonal system embedded with primal meaning - rising and falling, tension and rest, life and death.
Why Humans Like to Cry: Tragedy, Evolution, and the Brain (Michael Trimble)
Why Humans Like To Cry: Tragedy, Evolution & the Brain, by Michael Trimble This book was not the book I was hoping it was going to be. It's an extremely biology-focused approach to crying, very interested in the structures and processes of the brain. The question it was answering wasn't what the title implied - it was really more "why humans cry" not "why humans LIKE to cry". I found it boring. I kept going in the hopes that it would get beyond the technical explanations for how human brains work buuuut it never really did. I can't even tell you whether it's any good at what it IS talking about because I could never quite muster up the interest to actually pay attention to what I was reading. Oh well. You win some, you lose some.
Well, well, if it ain't Michael Trimble.
I can sense the argument with Imogen coming. Traditions, gotta love 'em.
do you like, ship holli with everyone? haha
No, darling, I do not ship her with everyone, you're thinking of Bell.
Though in all reality, I don't ship Bell with everyone most of the time. I would have to say my biggest ship for Holli would be Milli (Holli and Michael).
I think Micheal should just admit him and Holli are perfect together
I ship it too, darling, we'll see where that goes. Perhaps his inner self is still unsure about her.
Our first full blog post, aren't you excited?
This is going to be somewhat short, darlings, forgive me. I just have this influx of questions so I will answer them all at once. Okay? Okay.
Do Imogen and Bell have... "a thing"?
What the Hell does "a thing" mean? I'm assuming you're asking whether they're more than friends or something, I don't know. As far as I know, no, there's nothing going on between them.
Do you think Bell is a just flirt or does she actually like Imogen?
As I said before, Bell is flirty on and off. She used flirty language and mannerisms toward her, so perhaps she does like her. I've only seen very short interaction between her and Imogen. Until I see more between them, I can't be sure.
Are Imogen and Bell together? Because Bell has been flirting with that new blond chick, too. Does she just have a thing for blonds?
No, they are not together. Both Imogen and Bell are single ladies. It seems like Bell knows how to appreciate a cute blonde, though I can't say for sure if she has a "thing" for them. What the Hell is up with you people and the word "thing"? I'll have to use it more often or something, too. Hah.
Is Amy dating anyone? Does she have any crushes? IT seems like she likes Bell...
No, Amy is not dating anyone. I'm not sure if she has crushes or not. I haven't seen her chasing after any boys. It almost seemed as though she might have a thing (there's that word again) for Mia before, but that girl hasn't been around for a while. As for how she feels about Bell, who knows? She sure didn't push her away when the girl grabbed her by the shoulders and all but stroked her hair, though. Just sayin'.
Who do you ship??
I answered this yesterday, sweetie, where have you been? I'll go ahead and entertain this question, though.
Imogen and Erik
Erik and Michael
Michael and Holli
Bell and Amy
Amy and Mia
Bell and Everyone
Neil and Theo
I realize that some of them have never even met one another, but these are premature ships, and I do what I want.
