Un lieu est nécessaire pour qu’il y ait départ, et le départ n’est possible que s’il a un lieu d’où il procède : les deux éléments – le lieu et le départ – sont relatifs l’un à l’autre, car c’est une distanciation qui permet de reconnaître à la localisation initiale sa clôture, et c’est pourtant ce champ fermé qui rend possible une investigation nouvelle.

Pembaca menginterpetasikan tulisan penulis secara subjektif, menerjemahkan sesuai dengan apa yang sudah mereka serap dan mereka ketahui sebelumnya. Pembaca menginterpretasi berdasar kultur dan kebiasaan yang mereka miliki, sesuai dengan penulis namun mengubah teks sesuai dengan adat mereka, aksen, atau bahasa ibu mereka. Setiap orang membaca teks atau gambar secara berbeda sesuai dengan kebutuhan dan pengalaman mereka dan menggambarkan arti yang berbeda. Seni percakapan menciptakan suatu komunikasi kolektif yang tidak dimiliki semua orang. Everyday life invents itself by poaching in countless ways on the property of others. Reading is an act of production that is not recorded, akin to a once-off silent performance. Sometimes I feel like my art brain is playing tricks on me.  I finished a collage piece called Tandem a few months ago.  I am now planning grant apps for a tandem-bicycle-centered interview project.  Title-brainstorming is making me think about the travel- and conversation- duality of the word "ramble."  And now I'm five years ago, back to Michel de Certeau's Walking in the City.

“These thick or thin curves [of trajectories] only refer, like words, to the absence of what has passed by.  Surveys of routes miss what was:  the act itself of passing by… The trace left behind is substituted for the practice.  It exhibits the (voracious) property that the geographical system has of being able to transform action into legibility, but in doing so it causes a way of being in the world to be forgotten.”
