So I noticed something here... Volstagg is known for having a lot of children, but most of these kids, aside from Hildy, look almost nothing like him or his wife. So using that knowledge, and the fact that he so quickly adopted these two human kids, this leads me to wonder if almost all of his children are actually orphans that he and his wife have adopted of those slain in Asgard’s many wars... and if so my respect for him just grew massively.

Not everyone made it through the night unscathed though. The mother of these children was killed by Zaniac, and their father became the Zaniac and he is dead, so they are now orphans. Instead of shuffling them into the Earth system, Thor brings them back to Asgard to be taken care of, which Volstagg instantly agrees to.

Hogun takes the Mortensen boys to have their first bite of one of the Asgard apple trees, I know this is a red apple, and it is supposed to be the gold ones that the gods eat, but I still think this is the same apple, which would mean that they are slowly weaning these kids into godhood, of sorts?
