I got a Micro Genius IQ-1000 the other day as a gift from the seller in Taiwan I buy bootleg games from, as consolation for the mixup with the last clone system I got from him (which was the Family TV Game thing). It’s another Famicom clone. I’ve never had a “discrete” famiclone before (meaning that the inside of this thing uses actual reverse-engineered pirate versions of the Nintendo chips and not a crappy all-in-one single-chip setup, called a NOAC). The Micro Genius sounds (almost) the same as the Family TV Game. In fact, the shitty audio that all NOAC clones have was actually based on the Micro Genius’ audio. Whoops. As far as neat shit goes, the controllers are wireless. The dpad kinda sucks for “precise” games but feels alright for others.
