What in the hell is microplastics??

They are tiny pieces of plastic that come from bigger plastics like plastic bags, bottles, and etc. They are so small that sometimes they can be smaller than the amount of shits i give about my ex, which is very very very little, its microscopic.

They are literally EVERYWHERE like the government birds (i swear the birds arent real). Its in the oceans, land, and even in our own freaking food!!!!!

Marine life mistakes them for food like how i mistake the toaster for a bath bomb. The fish end up eating the plastic and then it travels up the food chain to us.

Microbeads are a big no no. They are the little beads in our face wash, laundry detergent, body wash, and etc. They advertise the beads as "helping the process" or "making it cleaner" but its not. It ends up washing down the drain and into our oceans. They are just balls of plastic. Try to avoid any products with beads in it.

Fun Fact Friday - What are microbeads?🤔

Just a few years ago, microbeads could be found in most popular facial scrubs and even in your toothpaste. Now, however, their existence is rapidly fading away. But, why? And what are they exactly?

Microbeads are tiny balls of plastic that used to be prominent in many facial scrubs across a vast number of countries. 

This is because they have a smooth surface, therefore when used in a scrub they can slough away dead skin cells quickly and without causing irritation to the skin. 

However, the EU, the UK and the US have all banned the use of microbeads within the past couple of years.

This follows research into how these little plastic beads wash away into the ocean from your sink, and how sea animals ingest them as a result.

Now, instead of using microbeads as a form of exfoliation, jojoba beads are one of the safest alternatives to use.

You can also find products with rice grains that can gently exfoliate your skin. 

Just make sure to avoid products containing walnut shells or apricot pits, as these are too abrasive to the delicate skin on your face.
