Tip 19

- start a “eat me first” bin in your fridge

Sometimes our fridges can become Narnia, and we can’t find that red bell pepper we brought a few weeks ago. Then you start thinking you're are crazy because you swear you brought it, but you can’t find it....this is totally not a personal experience.

Have a bin, drawer, shelf, or a location in your fridge for the foods

Put all the foods that are close to its expiration date or almost going bad in the bin

Every time you cook/eat go thru that bin first and see what u can use

This helps reduce food waste and not have random rotting food lying around. Also you can pretend you are on Chopped and it's one of your mystery ingredients.

YALL I JUST FOUND THIS OUT AND IM SO EXCITED!!!! YOU CAN USE CANDLE JARS AS CUTE DRINKING CUPS!!!

- clean out the wax with warm water and soap

- remove the label

- BAM A DRINKING CUP

Please make sure its thoroughly cleaned.

It does have to be a drinking mug. It could be a plant pot, spice jar, and pencil jar. YOU LITERALLY MAKE IT INTO ANYTHING!!!

For my witches out there, you can put in died flowers or herbs, MOON WATER (or any type of water you collect for your craft), or a big spell jar. Omg u guys can do so much with it!!!

CAFOS stands for concentrated animal feeding operation. They are the big animal farms you see with a bunch of cows, pigs, and chickens in cages.

If you want a good halloween movie I suggest u watch movies about CAFOS. They are VERY graphic and disturbing, so watch at your own risk.

WHY IS MEATLESS MONDAYS COOL??

Cutting down on meat = less contribution to climate change (I'll explain CAFOS in another post)

Try a new vegetarian/vegan recipe. I LOVE vegetarian meals, they are freaking bomb. I'm not talking about a salad. I'm talking bout an actual MEAL.

It can boost your heart health bc a lot of meats we get at the grocery store is pumped out with injections and why not from the animals. Eat veggies, beans, and nuts.

It cuts down on energy. Eating meats costs more energy than vegetables because of CAFOS

I know sometimes it can be hard doing meatless mondays if you really love meat or you are in a family that eats meat based meals. I recommend doing it once a month and see where it takes you, then slowly add another monday in, and BAM you are doing meatless mondays for a whole month!!! Take it slow and easy!! ADD TO THE LIST IF YOU KNOW MORE STUFF I LOVE IT WHEN YOU GUYS DO THAT CAUSE I LEARN FROM YOUR GUYS TOO!!!!!!

Throw ur pet's fur outside when they are shedding. Birds can use it for building nests. You can also throw ur OWN hair outside!!! Literally just go outside and yEET the hair

Have leftover veggies?? Make some broth!!

Make vegetable broth out of ur kitchen scraps

The base should be onions, carrots, celery, salt, and pepper (if you say salty is too spicy then im going to come to ur house and feed u spices like the cinnamon challenge... add the salt emma). Let it sim for 2-3 hrs. When it's done make sure u strain it and u can freeze it up to 6 months.

Other things you can add

Bell peppers

Leafy greens

Herbs (not the one you get from ur plug)

The skins of veggies

Mushrooms (not the "fun" ones)

Back to School ->Ecofriendly Edition

Since some of yall are going back to school, I thought about sharing some ways to be nice to the earth while going back to school

Reuse your old notebooks. Take out used pages (pst pst you can use shredded paper for compost) and BAM new notebook

USE THE SCHOOL SUPPLIES U ALREADY HAVE!!!! I can't stress this enough, if you already have highlighters, don't go buy new ones, FINISH THE ONE U ALREADY HAVE

Try to use up the paper as much as possible. I have a bunch of scrap paper laying around, I use the plain back of the paper to show my work in math. I also write down equations I need to remember and keep it.

Buy second hand supplies. I know they always have a lot of binders and folders. I needed sticky notes for English class I found some sticky notes at a thrift store, it had the label of some insurance company, so heads up its not always gonna look pretty. If you get lucky you might find a one direction notebook 😉

Use those free pens you get from ur doctor's office or the bank. Instead of going out and buying blue or black pens, use those thousands of free pens laying around. My blue pen is a plain pen I got from dentist and my black pen is a pen from my dad's bank. ITS LITERALLY FREE GUYS!!!!
