“C’mon, Eddie! The kids are waiting and we’re losing daylight.” Steve yells up the stairs of their townhouse as he slips on his shoes. He swipes through their bags quickly to make sure they’re not missing anything before making his way to the kitchen to collect their cooler. Nothing is worse than a gaggle of hungry kids.

Steve laughs, places a kiss against Eddie’s cheek before pulling away. “If you’re in the car in the next,” he glances at his watch, “two minutes, then I promise you a very,” he squeezes Eddie’s waist, “very good night.”

At that, Steve grabs the cooler and bags and heads out to the car. He’s not even done loading everything into the trunk when he hears the telltale sounds of Eddie barreling down the sidewalk toward him.

this might be going in a direction i did not anticipate lol picking up right here ~

Steve grumbles to himself, something about Eddie not caring about his own safety, and Eddie just laughs. Steve rolls his eyes, goes back to checking the cooler to make sure it’s ready. He throws in a few more sodas and tops it off with a bag of otter pops. He mixes the ice around and shuts the cooler, pats it twice as he looks up at Eddie who just finished lacing up his boots. He smirks to himself as he gets an idea.

this is slowly coming together, so hopefully that together is something good lol continued from here!

Eddie comes barrelling down the stairs then, a whirlwind of denim and chains. “I’m ready, I’m ready.” He hops into the kitchen as he tries very, very awkwardly to slide on his boots while he walks. 

Steve shakes his head. How Eddie always manages to be late for everything, despite wearing all of three outfits on rotation, continues to amaze him. “Please don’t make today a hospital trip instead of a park trip, babe. Just stand still.”

Eddie grins maniacally. “But where’s the fun in that?” Though, he stops his awkward hopping slash walking to lean against the wall as he finishes putting his shoes on.
