honestly. microlabeling is only harmful when the lgbtqia+ community starts rejecting it, bc that’s when it “becomes a joke”. if people who are not either cis or het, find a lable that fits them, a lable that makes them feel valid and understood, the last thing they need is to get invalidated by the community that is supposed to make them feel safe and included.
microlabeling is not harmful. gatekeeping is.
just because microlabeling didnt work for you, doesnt mean microlabels are inherently bad !
I think the argument that “people who microlabel are the reason cishet people hate our community” is such a bad take. Like, I understand where you’re coming from, but homophobes/transphobes are going to hate lgbt people regardless lmao. Tbh, I don’t really have an opinion on microlabeling other than I think most of it is just completely unneeded. I mean if you want to identify as “abrosexual” I’m not gonna stop you but like......... you’re doing too much lmao.
Jessica, if you expect people to rember that your child’s name is Briakailey you can put in the effort to use xe/xir pronouns for Alex, alright?
⭐️✨microlabeling making cishets mad doesn’t invalidate it✨⭐️
✨⭐️why do y’all fucking care if someone identifies as demi or a he/him lesbian⭐️✨
⭐️✨making your life easier isn’t a good enough reason to exclude queer people from the community✨⭐️
✨⭐️people have been saying shit like this since the start of the community, first to bi people then to enby and ace people⭐️✨
⭐️✨fuck respectibility politics✨⭐️
