honestly. microlabeling is only harmful when the lgbtqia+ community starts rejecting it, bc that’s when it “becomes a joke”. if people who are not either cis or het, find a lable that fits them, a lable that makes them feel valid and understood, the last thing they need is to get invalidated by the community that is supposed to make them feel safe and included. 

microlabeling is not harmful. gatekeeping is.

I think the argument that “people who microlabel are the reason cishet people hate our community” is such a bad take. Like, I understand where you’re coming from, but homophobes/transphobes are going to hate lgbt people regardless lmao. Tbh, I don’t really have an opinion on microlabeling other than I think most of it is just completely unneeded.
