Midnight Cinderella: Make up from a fight. (Byron and Albert.)
Byron:
The Princess of Wysteria had just gotten back to Stein from attending matters in her country. While there, Y/n deeply missed King Byron, her finance, she missed being in his arms, Byron’s gentle kisses.
It was late at night by the time Y/n’s carriage stopped in front of Stein castle, so Y/n thought nothing of it when she saw King Byron in the palace halls, she thought he was waiting for her.
“Byron!” Y/n smiled before she skipped over to him.
His face was blank and scolding. “This isn’t how the future queen of Stein should act, especially around nobles.” was all that Byron said before walking away.
That was when Y/n saw said nobles, who bowed respectfully before following the king out of the palace. Y/n was frozen in shock, she had just embarrassed the king of Stein, her lover, in front of important people.
“It’s okay, Y/n.” Nico said once he reached her side, “he probably had a rough day.”
“He got mad.” Y/n whimpered.
She sniffled as she felt a tear leave her e/c eyes. Y/n was tired, it was late, and all she wanted to do was be in her lover's arms.
“Y/n?” the princess heard a soft voice behind her. It was King Byron, “are you crying?”
“Sorry, I know it’s unbecoming for a princess.” Y/n straightened herself, “I am sorry for how I acted in front of the nobles, I’ll be in my chambers.”
She bowed before walking down the familiar halls. Byron stared after her, allowing her to walk away. However, well past midnight, when Byron was laying in his room, he couldn’t sleep, knowing that he had made his fiancée cry. It also felt weird trying to fall asleep knowing that Y/n was in the castle, but in a different room. Sighing. Byron left his chambers and made his way over to Y/n.
King Byron knocked softly at the princess door and heard a muffled “come in”. He could hear the tiredness in her voice. Byron was tired too, all he wanted to do was hold her, the only contact the lovers have had in months was through letters.
“I’m sorry for snapping, that was unfitting for me, you didn’t know that there were nobles over, and I usually let you run into my arms, it’s what I look forward to whenever you come back.” Byron apologized as he approached the princess, who sat up in her bed.
“It’s okay, I’m sorry too. And for walking away as I did, I was just really tired, so I got upset.” Y/n smiled sweetly at him.
“May I lay down with you?” Byron asked.
“You may.” Y/n scooted over and lifted her blanket, Byron slipped in next to her and wrapped his arms around her.
“I love you,” Y/n mumbled against his chest.
“I love you too, my love” Byron whispered before he let sleep consume him.
Albert:
Albert had told Princess Y/n not to do something because it was dangerous and he didn’t want her to get hurt. But Y/h had ended up doing anyway and got hurt. Albert hasn’t found out yet, he was out with some new knights, helping them out before they would become full knights.
Nico was with Y/n when she had gotten hurt, so he helped her sneak to her room. However, a young knight had seen, and went and got Albert. In the young knight's defense, he thought that getting the chosen prince consort was a good idea for the injured princess.
“She’s what?” Albert asked before walking away, “how bad was she injured, get the doctor.”
On his way to the Y/n room, Albert saw Nico about to enter her room, when Nico saw him, his eyes widened and he tried to hurry away.
“I know that you see me, Nico.” shouted Albert, “get over here.”
“Oh hey, Al.” Nico smiled brightly, “how are you doing? Coming to see Y/n, she’s resting right now, she was really tired.”
“Nico,” Albert spoke.
“Yeah?” Nico smiled.
“How injured is she?” Albert asked worriedly.
“Just a twisted ankle and a cut on her knee, I was just about to put some ointment on her knee and put ice on her foot.” Nico looked down.
“Give it to me.” Albert held his hand out.
Nico handed over the ointment and Albert entered the princess's chambers, after knocking. When Y/n called his name, Albert ignored her. As Y/n tried to talk to him, he still ignored her as he elevated her ankle on a pillow before putting some ice on it, and while he put the medicine on her knee.
“Albert,” Y/n called out to him once again before the prince consort left her room.
Albert sighed and turned to face her, “I told you, over and over again, not to do it, that you could get hurt. But did you listen? No. You got hurt and I had to find out from a trainee.”
“I thought I could handle it.” Y/n insisted.
“Even after I warned you that you could get hurt?” Albert argued, “why don’t you listen to me? Especially when I was trying to protect you?”
“I don’t know.” Y/n shouted, “maybe because I would like to find out things for myself, I guess I’m an idiot for doing so?”
“I never called you an idiot, Y/n” Albert sighed.
“You were thinking it.” Y/n pouted as she looked away from Albert’s gaze.
“No.” Albert stepped closer, “I’m just upset that you got hurt when I warned you in the first place.”
“I get that.” Y/n looked at him. “And I obviously won’t do it again, that really hurt. I’m sorry for not listening, okay?”
Albert sighed as he saw the princess' eyes begin to well up in her eyes.
“Y/n,” he began as he walked over to her bed, “it’s okay, you’re okay. Though you did get hurt, it wasn’t severely, I’m thankful for that.”
Albert was now on the soft bed, gently soothing Y/n’s hair. Y/n smiled up at him and Albert smiled in return before placing a kiss on the top of her head.
“Get some rest.” He whispered.
“Please stay?” Y/n asked sweetly.
“Of course, as if I’d miss a chance to cuddle with you.” Albert smiled as he laid beside her her
