High school biology classes often include a dissection project. In your opinion of practicality, education, and squick, what is the best specimen for classroom dissection?

why don't more students dissect [tag]? seems like an obvious choice

Today was my last day teaching in student teaching. I'll be in the classroom till the 24th, but tomorrow and Thursday we're watching Hidden Figures in the 6th grade classes and Queen of Katwe in the 7th grade classes (because they've already seen Hidden Figures). And then it's Mid-Winter Break (4 day weekend) and then I finish out next week watching other people teach and all that.
I've survived! I passed all of my Observations first try. I got really good reviews. I learned a lot. And I feel like I'm at a good place to start applying for teaching positions next year!
I have three papers left and I'm mid-writing on paper 3.
The end is in sight! Graduation is soon. I am...almost done.
When I was in middle school my science teacher put Osmosis Jones on for us to watch and then halfway through turned it off saying it was inappropriate. She would not elaborate on why. I still wonde.

Student 2: No! They lay babies!
I've been assigned a host teacher for observation and student teaching! We need to get to know each other and confirm we're good working with each other before everything moves forward, but it's good to know I have somebody assigned.
