It's time to start anew with a focused mind

Last year was the year of the Myke and I started it with

A poetic forecast of L.O.V.E., but I also was on my phoenix

hustle with it marking the beginning of Y.U.N.G. Life. I also

Was facing the peacekeeper's blues while getting hit by blasts

From the past like games that were all about 2 player co-op.

I also gave people a look behind the mask I wore for society

While taking a shot of courage in a sea of doubt by saying

Real talk while walking through that mental rain. Miss N.  

Cognito was on my brain last year too, but I had to tell her

Bye until we say hi again because my thoughts were a looselace

Fruit medley, but the power of youth appeared when time really

Mattered, especially when I had that hope and dreams recruitment

Drive.  

Then the power of a smile gave me April's spirit whether I was

On a hunt of jellybean like proportions or when I was stripped down by  

The binding rose of the twist of fate. However I have to admit the strength

And fragility of friendship became a recurring theme when scattered lines of

Emotion came full circle. As a result, I sometimes had to take a mental nap when

A divided world or a magical earth became my tools of power and imagination.

Last year, I was inspired by the life of midnight fox to avoid joy stealers and taking

Part in heart wars, yet I feared a glimpse of me would leave some wide eyed and

Tongue tied. Despite that, Y.U.N.G. was the center of my life's thoughts even when

A fantasy Halloween party became an animation breakthrough, but if it wasn't for

My muse of gentle resolve, my phoenix hustle, my trusty earphones, and the soul of

A samurai, I wouldn't have had breathing room in the face of tension like the one

In Myke and Leon mysteries, to make a vital impact in my life last year, but I also

Have to give thanks to confidence and comrades being in my corner.  

But this year is a different story with Y.UN.G. Life

Being unveiled in its full glory and the adventures

Of Timmyboy and friends going forward in a direction

Nobody knows. Also planning to do something special

Near the day cupid shoots its arrows, but still uncertain

On the shape it will take and my all -out assault that began

In April will enter round 2 with my goal being to exceed the

Creativity and quality of the last one. There will also be

Continuations of poems or stories that I left in mystery

Like midnight fox, Myke and Leon, and heart wars, just

To name a few, but creating new stories are also in mind.

I will also be training myself to learn new techniques and

Skills in the art of the written word so I can become a

Strong storyteller with a deep, poetic soul, but the main

Focus of this year is D.O.G., dominating our goals because

I know I'm not the only one in pursuit of a goal or a dream

And when one succeeds, it motivates others to not give  

Up on their path and I know when I dominate my own, I

Will use whatever power I have to help others do the same.

All For The Game AU: Drag queen/night scene

Quick disclaimer: I know very little about the drag world so I’m deeply sorry if I said anything wrong and/or offensive. Please tell me. I mean absolutely no disrespect.

Thank you to @jeanvmoreau who read my ramblings and convinced me to post this!

I was thinking about Neil growing very fond of makeup because it makes the shadow of his father disappear from his features, and my mind accidentally wandered.

About the Foxes:

Neil is a theater/dance nerd on the run

One night he’s exhausted and injured, so when he sees this open club he gets in, alright? He needs a break and nobody will notice him in the crowd.

Owners of the club are Wymack, retired drag queen, and Abby, piano player.

Kevin is the club’s star, everybody knows him as the Fox Queen (I know, I’m bad at names) 

Andrew pretends to hate performing but he secretly loves it

Nicky is the most glittery and also the only one who doesn’t do playback. He always sings.

(Erik was the first person to notice how good of a singer Nicky is and to have told him) 

(Andrew can sing too but he won’t) 

Aaron won’t perform but he will help at the bar

Seth doesn’t do drag but he does perform. He’s gone very close to break the Decency Rules imposed by Wymack more than once. 

Allison and Renee are the makeup artists and they work wonders. They also help with the costumes and work at the bar.

Dan used to be a stripper but now she teaches modern dance and occasionally helps Kevin, Andrew, Nicky and Seth with their choreography.

Matt works at the bar and teaches self-defense. He and Renee are the ones who deal with the trouble makers.

On special occasions Allison, Dan and Renee will put up a choreography. 

Renee and Allison do duets sometimes and it’s the most intense thing in the entire world.

Anyway so Neil gets inside The Midnight Fox and. He’s heard of drag queens but he’s never actually seen it.

So when Kevin takes the stage, at first he doesn’t recognize him.

He’s just mesmerized 

Matt notices so he goes over to Neil and offers him a drink because, well

It reminds him of the first time he saw Dan dance and how utterly breath-taking it was, you know?

“First time, huh?” 

Neil turns to look at him and nods. 

That’s when Matt notices that this boy is bleeding. Actually bleeding. 

Neil had been too exhausted to notice

Next thing he knows, Matt is pulling him backstage to Abby, who immediately lets go of the dress she was fixing and takes out the first-aid kit

Neil can’t help but pay more attention to the noise coming from the bar and Kevin’s performance than her

After his performance’s over, Kevin comes backstage and starts taking the makeup and costume off

And that’s when it clicks

Neil starts panicking

He tries to leave but of course Abby is having none of this

She and Matt want to take him to the hospital 

Meanwhile Kevin and Wymack are starting to wonder what all the fuss is about 

While they’re talking Neil manages to sneak past them and back in the club, fully intent on leaving.

Except.

Well.

It’s Andrew’s time to perform.

And Neil can see he’s holding himself back, but there’s still something. 

Something that actually makes him stop and watch.

Before it’s over though, Wymack and Abby are dragging him back

It’s decided that if he doesn’t want to go to the hospital, then he’ll be staying here.

Neil tries to protest but he’s very tired and no match to Wymack and Abby’s parental instinct. 

So Neil spends the night in Abby and Wymack’s flat, which is just above the club.

Of course the next day he tries to leave.

But Wymack’s already up.

It’s either he stays or Wymack drags him to the hospital himself.

So he stays. But he doesn’t want to owe Wymack and Abby anything.

He starts by helping at the bar.

Then one night Dan notices how hard he stares at the drag performances and she convinces Kevin to test him

Neil doesn’t want to attract attention at first, but he remembers how he didn’t recognize Kevin before his makeup was off.

So he thinks, maybe he can try. Maybe he can find some of the intensity he used to feel when he was on stage.

The first time he performs, he realizes that it’s the most alive he’s ever felt.

He knows it’s not true but he feels invincible. Like he doesn’t have to run as long as he’s here, on stage, with the name Matt and Dan made up for him.

He feels like himself.

(Andrew watches the entire performance and hates it) 

(Nicky is extatic) 

(Matt is So Proud)

About the others:

The Nest is a very posh and expensive private club which exploits its strippers and hosts/hostesses. They mingle in some very dirty business.

The Trojans are a musical theater troupe because of course they are.

(Jeremy is also known as the nicest drag queen ever) (he sasses but is somehow never mean) 

(After Jean has been a Trojan for some time, Jeremy convinces him to try drag at least once and Jean Loves It. The extravaganza, the performance, the freedom) 

(He steals Jeremy’s breath a little)

The Vixens are an acrobat troupe.

Aaron is secretly a Big Fan and goes to all of their shows.
