this is not a part of my kirby hcs I have really shared.

There are two ways mirror worlders come back from death. Usually the worse option happens due to an imbalance in the mirror, or a piece not being returned. Either they just get revived with little consequence beyond some exhaustion and brain fog, or they are essentially "updated" with the modern memories of their counterpart + forget a lot of their unique experiences (they can remember but it takes a lot of piecing together). They also go through some weird dream shit to get revived.

In my minds eye the second option happened to DMK when he was initially revived, and I crafted this headcanon for him exclusively.

However, I think this sort of revival applied to Skirby any time post dating Fluff is so incredibly fucked up. So I am naturally turning it over in my brain. Skirby trying to piece his memories and self back together, while having all of Kirby's memories (including his feelings about Skirby, and Fluff, and their relationship) implanted directly into his cranium is so torturous for everybody involved. And he's trying to keep his relationship together.

Maybe he gets to have a fucked up cut after this yeah
