I see a lot of posed and planned photos on Instagram. Are there any #reallife #midproject photos? This is what my desk looks like in the middle of a cosplay project. What does yours look like? Tag me. 😊 #cosplay #cosplaygirl #drpamelaisley #poisonivy #sewing #sewingproject

The location for our Midretreat/Midproject was truly peaceful, beautiful and fantastic. I would recommend it to anyone in the region who is looking for a place to host a similar retreat. It might be a little bit out of the way - but it is worth it.
We had such a great time and made so many great memories there, I could not imagine having our Midproject/Midretreat anywhere else!
Story Time!
The past few posts I have made have been primarily photos. And though a picture may be worth a thousand words, I think it is time for a little story from Midproject/Midretreat. Fear not, you will not be bored for this is a story where you get to laugh at my clumsiness! And, of course, the accompanying picture.
During our downtime during the retreat, we had the option to canoe or kayak. I was originally very excited to get in a canoe and paddle around with a couple of friends, but I found that I was a little bit too late and the canoes were all taken. I had not had any great kayak experiences in the past but I decided to give it a go anyways, so I grabbed a kayak and brought it down to the dock.
Once the kayak was in the water by the edge of the dock, I prepared myself to get into the boat and go. And get into the boat I did - for all of two seconds. I was a little bit too enthusiastic, you could say, about getting into the boat and I sort of went in and over the edge. I ended up falling face-first into the chilly lake.
I was a little bit confused - and more than slightly embarrassed- to find myself almost entirely submerged sitting in the water a mere two feet away from the dock. Everyone on the dock was concerned for me and thought that I would probably die of hypothermia. As I got up to tell them I was alright, my life jacket - the sea kind of life jacket that expands on contact with water - inflated a little late and I was so startled that I fell back into the water! But of course only one side inflated, and as I got up for the second time to let them know that I was alright, the other side inflated mid sentence!
It is safe to say that it was a bit of an embarrassing moment on my part, but I took it in good spirits and went to dry off. At the end of the day I am the only one who can say I went for a swim! And it will be a good story and a fond memory in years to come!
These are a few of my favourite moments with the girls at Mid-Project/Mid-Retreat!
This is the cabin that I shared with Dakota, Ania, Ivanna and Olia during Mid-Project/Mid-Retreat.
It was Cabin #4 The Dawn at Avalon Eco Resort. It was a truly beautiful place and I am glad that we spent our weekend there!
