Here’s another clip from some recording I was doing last night. This is my tune “Accident”- this time on my 50 year old MIJ Alvarez classical guitar. This guitar is awesome. It actually can handle the CGDGBD tuning capoed at the 5th fret- which is proving challenging to record. I’m getting fret buzz, a low end rumble, etc. I recorded some versions of this tune on my steel string the other night, and then I thought I’d try the nylon and see if it sounded better. At this point I don’t know! Either way I just have to remind myself that a lot of luminary guitarists who rocked different tunings like Ali Farka Toure, Ry Cooder, Leo Kottke, etc I’m sure had to deal with instruments being temperamental with altered tunings. So it goes!
