So it's like an age gap that everyone in Hollywood is talking about and his parents and her parents dont approve but they dont care because they love each other too much? I appreciate the message, but I won’t be able to write this request for you for a couple reasons.
First of all, for the relationship to be a true “talking point” and controversial with so many people, Reader would have to be barely 18, which I don’t feel comfortable writing, since I’m nowhere near that young, and have no clue how to convincingly write a teenager. Second, Ben dating someone that young would make me feel VERY differently about him, because what the heck would he have to talk about with someone that wasn’t even born when he graduated high school? She wouldn’t be old enough to go into places with him, couldn’t drink, would have nothing in common with any of his friends… it wouldn’t work. Third, Ben seems to try to keep the things he does in his personal and public life from being too controversial, and a relationship of that nature going public feels really out of character for him to me, because it would be talked about, and people would judge him/them for it.
I cannot fault someone for doing something that makes them happy, and as long as a relationship is legal, people can do whatever they want… but a 20 year age gap of this nature? No thanks. I’d have to seriously question the intent and motivation of someone that chose to be in a relationship like this… and I’m not comfortable doing that with Ben.
