Mighty Ducks + text posts part 1
Can we PLEASE talk about how dirty Adam was done in Mighty Ducks D3??? Guys 😭
so first of all- he made varsity, but because everyone else (mainly Charlie) was too teenage-angst-everything-sucks core, he didn’t even get a pat on the back or anything. Like it’s mad impressive that he made varsity, as a freshman, first day of school. But no one really congratulated him 😭
THEN- the whole prank wars thing they had going on, varsity vs. JV. The ducks did not regard him one bit and just let him get caught in the crossfire- even targeting him a little bit with the whole frozen-jackets thing. “He’s one of them now, isn’t he?” NOT REALLY GIRL-
in fact he was literally cheering them on for a while during their first game
And then it was made pretty clear he had little to nothing to do with the things varsity did to the ducks, and he even told Charlie straight up he had no idea they were planning that stunt at dinner until it was too late. (Charlie didn’t even care either bro he just called him a little preppy rich boy and let him skate away) (Charlie was rlly going through it in D3) (partially in the form of self sabotage but wtv)(oh and then he literally shoved Adam into the goal during that game so that’s silly)
AND THEN- after there was that whole “self realization” thing with Charlie and Bombay, where Bombay got all the ducks together to play street hockey- suddenly they’re all cool with Adam again?? Like he’s casually playing with them- not even a cliché “head nod of understanding” moment between Adam and Charlie?? They just move on?? No apology even???
to make matters worse- when they’re at the council meeting and the ducks’ scholarships are up for discussion, the varsity team is fully willing to throw Adam out with the rest of them, even though they basically inducted him into their team for a few weeks? I mean I know they probably don’t have some deep brotherly connection with him or anything, but damn he was disregarded by both the ducks and varsity 😭 . Though there are a few times when they mention his worth and stuff- such as later after the council meeting when Charlie says “you had one of us: Banksie” but then Rick literally is like “meh he didn’t have spirit anyways it’s wtv” like hello??
then he just moves back to jv/the ducks at the end and everything is back to normal again and dean comes back and they win or smt so um happily ever after??? Ig?? Idk I still think he deserved some kind of apology.
anyways boo varsity (except scooter) and Adam deserved better fr, yap session over thanks for reading <3
The Quiet Girl (Luis Mendoza x Female!Reader)
Word count: 1.3k
TW: romantic/physical affection, romantic situations, mild language, locker room teasing.
Summary: Luis Mendoza is a loud, outgoing hockey player, and you’re a quiet, book-loving girl. Despite being complete opposites, the two of you are dating.
Luis would’ve never thought he’d be dating a girl like you. You two are complete opposites! He’s a loud outgoing hockey player and you're a quiet nerdy girl who likes to read in the library instead of going into the lunchroom, not that he can blame you, the lunchroom is hell.
You’re sitting in the library, reading, when you feel arms wrap around your waist and someone whispers, ‘Hey, baby, what are you reading?’
You giggle and kiss him on the cheek. You start excitedly telling him all about your book. He sits next to you as you start talking “It's called Heated Rivarly. It's about two hockey rivals who hook up behind their teams’ backs. Luis chuckles, glancing over at you. “You get so excited over this stuff, it’s kinda cute.” You giggle and say “You're the cute one.” Then, the lunch bell rings.
Later, in the locker room, Charlie says “Hey, Luis.” Luis is putting on his pads “What's up, Charlie?” Charlie says “Why are you guys dating? You guys are like… complete opposites.”
Luis pauses, jaw tightening before he looks up at him. “So?”
Charlie lets out a short laugh. “I’m just saying—”
Luis grabs the front of his shirt, pulling him closer. “Because she’s pretty, alright? And she gets all excited about her books and stuff.” His grip tightens slightly. “So don’t say anything about her.”
Luis shakes his head and keeps getting ready. They get out on the ice and start practice. Connie skates up to Luis, “Hey… so your girlfriend likes to read, right?” Luis says “Yeah, she does, why?” Connie says “I just finished this book and was wondering if she’d want to borrow it.”
Luis skates a little closer, raising an eyebrow. “What book is it?”
Connie grins. “To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before. Has she read it before?”
Luis scratches the back of his neck. “Uh… I’m not really sure. I'll ask her after practice. Sound good?” Connie says “Yeah just call me later and let me know what she says.” Luis nods and gets back to his drills.
When practice ends, Luis quickly strips off his gear and throws on his sweatpants and shirt, barely able to wait to see you.
Julie smirks knowingly as Luis practically sprints out of the locker room. “What’s the rush, Mendoza?” she calls after him.
He shrugs, smiling a little. “Going to see my girl.” A chorus of oohs erupts throughout the locker room as he heads out.
You’re sitting there, already lost in another book, when a shadow falls over the page.
Luis steps in front of you, one hand bracing against the wall just above your head. With the other, he gently tilts your chin up, pressing a quick kiss to your lips. He lingers for a second, resting his forehead against yours with a small grin.
“Hey, baby.” You giggle and hug him. “Hey, babe can we go shopping pleaseee” you ask. He smirks “Of course anything for my gorgeous girlfriend.” He grabs your hand and starts walking with you to his car.
You both get in the car and buckle up. He starts driving to your mall, keeping a hand on your thigh the entire drive. After about 10 minutes, you arrive at the mall. You both get out and go into the mall.
You say “We should go to the bookstore first, then Ulta, and then find some matching pajama pants you know?”
He smirks “You and your books, but yeah sure that sounds good.”
You walk into the bookstore and Luis follows behind. Luis says “Oh, by the way, Connie wants to know if you read To All The Boys I've Loved Before? She says she finished it and wants to let you borrow it since you like books.” You reply “No I haven't, tell her I’ll borrow the book.” Luis nods “okay I will.”
You choose three books, and Luis shakes his head while laughing “Barnes and Noble is gonna have to ban you!” You chuckle and he pays for the books.
Then, you guys head to Hollister. You browse around the store and pick out two really cute tops. Luis comes up behind you and wraps his arms around your waist. "Damn, Mamí, you're gonna look so good.” You pick some matching pajama pants and head to the checkout. Luis pays again and says with a smile, “You're gonna make me go broke, you owe me so many kisses later.” You blush, “You’re gonna regret saying that when I give you so many kisses.”
Luis shakes his head, “nah nah nah, I couldn’t regret saying that, when I’m gonna get so many kisses from a pretty girl like you.”
You two then finish up at Ulta and he takes you back to the car. You start driving to your house. His hand stays on your thigh the entire time.
You start walking to your house, and as soon as you reach the door, Luis leans in. His lips brush yours softly, and your heart skips a beat. You deepen the kiss, letting your hands rest gently on his shoulders while his hand stays warm on your thigh, the other wrapped around your waist. Time seems to slow down for a few minutes as you both get lost in the moment, smiling against each other’s lips and feeling the flutter of excitement.
Finally, he pulls back just enough to rest his forehead against yours, his warm breath mingling with yours. “Bye, babe… be safe,” he whispers with a small grin.
You smile, your cheeks still warm. “Of course I will. Goodbye, baby. I’ll see you tomorrow,” you reply softly, giving him a quick peck before stepping inside.
“Of course I will, goodbye baby I’ll see you tomorrow.” You start walking into your house as he drives away.
Luis arrives at his house and walks in. “Hola, mamá, ya estoy en casa.” (Hey mom, I’m home). His mom says, “Hola, mijo, ¿dónde has estado?” (Hello, my son, where have you been?).
Luis says, “Fui de compras con mi novia.” (I went shopping with my girlfriend.)
His mom smiles, “¡Ay, qué maravilla! ¿Cuándo puede conocerla la familia?” (Oh, how wonderful! When can the family meet her!)
Luis shrugs, “Lo averiguaré; voy a ir a mi habitación.” (I'll find out; I'm going to my room.)
His mom says, “Okay.”
Luis flops onto his bed and grabs his landline, dialing Connie’s number. He lets it ring, knowing she’s probably getting ready to go on a date with Guy.
After a moment, she finally picks up. “Hello?”
“Hey, Connie, it’s Luis.”
On the other end, Connie’s trying to apply blush while holding the landline between her shoulder and ear. “Hey, Luis. What’s up?”
Luis chuckles, a grin spreading across his face. “Ooh… is someone going on a date with Guy?”
He can practically hear her eye roll through the phone. “Yes, Luis, I am,” she says, “He’s taking me out for ice cream, and then we’re going on a walk in the park.”
Luis’s mom walks in, “¡Ooo, mijo! ¿Esa es tu novia?” (Ooh, son! Is that your girlfriend?)
Luis says, “No, mamá, es Connie.” (No mom, it’s Connie)
She nods, “Está bien, mijo, ¡salúdala de mi parte!” (Alright, son, say hi to her for me!)
Luis nods as she walks away. Connie says, “What was she asking?”
My mom was asking if I was talking to my girl,” Luis says. “And my girl said she’ll borrow your book.”
Connie says, “Okay, yeah I’ll bring it to lunch tomorrow.”
Luis smiles, “Sounds good”
Luis says in a singsongy voice, “Have fun on your date with Guy.”
Connie rolls her eyes, “okay I will, bye now, Luis”
The phone line disconnects.
