End-of-life routers in homes and small offices hacked in 120 countries.
An estimated 18,000 to 40,000 consumer routers, mostly those made by MikroTik and TP-Link, located in 120 countries, were wrangled into infrastructure belonging to APT28, an advanced threat group that’s part of Russia’s military intelligence agency known as the GRU, researchers from Lumen Technologies’ Black Lotus Labs said.

I set up two free servers for my own dns. One is on Google, the other is on Amazon. On both configured vpn-clients. I am using the softether. As dns on these servers I use an unbound. The local pi-hole is configured to work with them. 192.168.7.0/24 is a subnet of vpn. As a result, dnsleaknest gives the ip of my servers. I don’t worry that some of my data is held by corporations. But they are not stored in my country. And my isp knows nothing about my DNS-queries (they go inside the encrypted channel). ping 100-200. Everything suits me.
