"Brooklyn Seeds”, Jason Middlebrook's monumentally-scaled mosaic garden of wildflowers at Avenue U (Q train), climbs up the station stair walls creating a lush environment within the rehabilitated station. The plants were chosen based on local wildflowers that grow in unlikely places, through cracks in the sidewalk, alleys, and walls, such as knapweed, burdock, golden rod, aster, milkweed and daises. See more of Middlebrooks’s work exploring the human and urban relationships to nature in his inaugural solo show at Miles McEnery Gallery through 4/13!
