Why the Enterprise is sending a distress signal

The Enterprise is sending a distress signal because Emperor Georgiou has hijacked the ship. "Michael, I brought you a present!" "Phillipa, put that ship and my brother back where they came from or so help me!"

So I think Phillippa is the Emperor, and I also think Mirror!Michael is her consort. Do just picture it, for the past several months she's been deep in mourning over Michael. Not outwardly, as Emperor she can't show any kind of weakness. But, inwardly she's been deeply suffering over the loss of the love of her life. Her T'hy'la as Michael had called her. And then she gets the news. Michael is alive and well and she has her murderer in tow. They're going to enjoy their reunion by murdering that traitor together. Meanwhile, Michael is experiencing a range of emotions. Seeing Connors was hard enough. Seeing Phillippa-but-not-her-Phillippa-this-is-her-evil-mirrorverse-double is hell, and she has to pretend this is her Phillippa, her T'hy'la so she doesn't reveal herself and ruin their chances of getting back home. as well as stop her from murdering Lorca. Who to put it mildly, is not in good shape, despite Michael's best efforts.

I just love how Lorca was so convinced that he and Michael were destined to be and she would love him across the multiverse. And guess what, you child grooming creep? Michael does someone across the multiverse and it‘s Philippa.

I'm not gonna lie, Milippa as a ship personally makes me uncomfortable--Michael reminds me too much of myself and Philippa reminds me overwhelmingly of a close mentor figure--but the fact that people latched onto it so quickly as a ship because the characters are already SO well-established warms my cold lesbian heart

I totally get a ship giving you uncomfy feelings due to real-life association, but oh my gosh I am so with you on that whole “cold lesbian heart” thing! Haha! We are so unbelievably starved for well-developed female characters that we started shipping it after the trailer gave them personalities. XD

Now with TWO HOURS of personality to draw on? I’m also very pleased people latched on. Someone described DSC as the Star Trek Femslash Renaissance and I’ve thought about that every day since Sunday. I hope they introduce some other well-developed female characters (many of them, preferably) so you can find a Michael ship that makes you happier! <3
