“I got your back.” (insp.)
me, thinking about how sylvia tilly is really the first friend michael has who interacts with her without judgement, how michael was so alone after being indicted and so determined to stay alone, how tilly became her friend so accidentally and so naturally that michael didn't realize it was happening until it already happened, how they are so ride or die for each other almost right away, how they could fall in love just as easily and just as accidentally if only they let themselves: hm.

Neck of Gold & Heart of Stars
There was Michael, rejected from her first dream—her first love, found in the stars—and scrambling to protect her next dream—her second love, found in the rush of blood in her veins and bruises on her skin.
There was Michael, winning.
She was here at the Federation’s Twenty-Second Olympics, and she was wearing the red robes of Vulcan, and she may have even belonged here.

4. Least favorite plot point
ay lmao 10000000% the ash/voq/l’rell mess. the showrunners made so many bad decisions in approaching the whole thing, especially in the depiction of ash and l’rell. cursed and bad. i think it has the potential to be hella cool that we’re gonna see klingon/human peace in one mind, but that was not how they should have gotten there.
13. Your bet on when and how Culber will be resurrected in Season 2
i’m thinking that it has to do with the green spore that landed on tilly and that it will get a whole plot arc that spans a few episodes early on in season two. although the producers’ hubris is pretty evident in their response to our outrage, i do think they know that drawing it out to the end of season two would be…..stupid.
20. Favorite fanfics (link to them!!!)
surprise: these are all from the michael burnham/sylvia tilly tag
eight thousand one hundred eighty six by ThatAloneOne
The Federation was always the cruellest when it tried to be kind.
The marker stared Michael down. It was plain, grey, and double ended: a thick felt tip on one end, a fine pen on the other. It was shiny the way most replicated objects were, not quite metal and not quite plastic.
Along with basic foods and items from each of the Federation cultures, each replicator contained a pattern for soulmate facilitation devices. Even prison replicators had them. The Federation weren’t monsters, after all. Not even to Michael, who was one.

they were roommates (oh my god they were roommates) by LMoriarty
“It’s just that… you’re really smart and you have a gorgeous smile and I’m sure I’m reading all the signs wrong, I tend to do that, but I really want to kiss you. Can I do that? If the signs are… real and there and I’m not just making them all up. Which is possible. Because you’re stunning, have I mentioned that? You’re just…” Tilly paused, took a deep breath to refill her lungs, and then concluded, “really, really pretty.”
how we love by Dubiousculturalartifact (222Ravens)
“Have you ever been in love?”
or, how Michael Burnham has always understood gravity, but never much about falling.
