Personality: Milo is open and honest with his feelings, to the point one could call him blunt and abrasive. He also holds confidence when it comes to where he stands with his abilities and powers, as well as his looks (he is a bit vain but not in any extreme sense). If he doesn’t like someone, he will not hide his disliking just to “keep the peace”. He feels honesty is the best policy, but this can come in the form of cruelty. He also holds a lot of distrust for most humans, the main exceptions being his mother and Howard. He can see nuance within, but it takes a lot of digging past his feelings to see it. He does get wound up easily, but he spits venom back whenever he cannot act with force, hence his previous name as “Mad Dog”. He’s also very protective of his sibling, as they are the last bit of family he has, and he will destroy whoever tries to harm them.

Background: Levi, previously a roaming ghoul who escaped from Japan, met Rachel Walsh, a young woman with an interest in macabre and dark literature. The two hit it off, and even after learning of Levi’s status as a ghoul, Rachel was not deterred from marrying him. Things were already calculated long before their birth, as Rachel and Levi made plans to protect their children with the help of the community's beloved doctor/ex-quinque specialist Howard Adams: False documentation on the birth of the twins in case Levi was found out, as well as a plan for Howard to either take care of the twins himself or for him to find someone in case something else happened to Rachel. The twins were wanted children, absolutely adored by both parents, and treated with plenty of love, autonomy, and respect. They were given room to explore both of their parent’s lives; Rachel and her human relationships, and Levi with his association with the community of ghouls. With the latter, Levi made sure to secure a place for them, as well as how to best utilize their kagunes and inform them on the truths of living as a ghoul. Despite these hardships of balancing both, the twins lived relatively happy lives until they reached 12. In an attempt of handling a situation gone awry (an associate of Levi’s killed a human woman by the name of Emma Finch), Levi was accused of the crime and killed by Benjamin Finch, Emma’s second husband and investigator of the case, as well as Arthur Finch’s stepfather. In this, Rachel and the twins were investigated as well with the inclusion of Howard, who managed to keep the twins out of trouble but couldn’t help Rachel out of her being sentenced to imprisonment for concealing a ghoul in her home. Milo vowed for revenge after that. Mira and Milo both found out about Arthur through Howard’s old contacts, and decided to establish a friendship with him to eventually betray and kill him. He wants Arthur dead by the end of this, establishing a reasonable distance that Mira tried to write off as him “having his own issues” while constantly feeling disdain for the guy. He hated pretending to be a friend to him and did everything in his power to not completely go off the rails. Seeing as he needed an outlet, he’d leave for periods of time after getting into fights with Mira to try and cool off. On the side of their ghoul activities, both the twins showed promise of being menaces as ghouls, even as far as for Mira to become the peacekeeper of their region. While Mira ate whatever was available, human or ghoul, indiscriminately, gaining a kakuja, Milo was still a picky eater and had troubles eating ghouls. In this, he gained an incomplete kakuja. After Arthur got an important surgery, Mira came to Milo saying they made plans to travel to Japan. This led to them having another fight, larger than their usual ones. Milo disappeared and hadn’t bothered to contact Mira of his location. He had been trying to figure out how to word that he was tired of the constant anger, that he wanted Mira to stop this play-pretend game of being friends when they had promised revenge together. He came home to see half their savings gone, as well as a note from Mira saying they had left and to call when he was feeling up to talking. This act infuriated Milo to its most extreme, reasoning that Arthur was no better than Benjamin for taking his family away and started on his dedicated goal to torment Arthur. He took the rest of the savings and packed up, in the process of coming up with the best plan to take him down once and for all. Relationships:

Mira Walsh Mira is their twi, someone who has endured the various ups and downs in his life as natural born half ghouls. They were raised with loving, caring parents that treated them equally. As such, the two were basically inseparable as kids. Where one was, the other was sure to follow. Milo was a crybaby as a child, usually going to his mother for comfort, and Mira took advantage of scaring him and looking like the cooler twin. Once they reached 12, when their father was killed and their mother imprisoned for harboring a ghoul, Milo stopped being a crybaby and Mira adopted being the source of strength for the duo, promising to protect him. The two’s relationship becomes strained over the years, especially after befriending Arthur. While they would get into fights, Milo’s anger would be a constant issue that he’d run from the situation and leave Mira alone for days. He has issues voicing his words when emotions come flooding quicker and more intensely, so he needs these breaks to let all the feelings go. Milo is unhealthily attached to Mira after losing their parents. Mira has tried discussing this, but these conversations lead to fights. He cannot fathom being away from his sibling. Not now, not ever. At the beginning of Tokyo Ghoul, Mira and Milo had been in a bad fight and hadn’t been in contact with each other for a few months. It’s only after a few events (the Gourmet arc) that he finally sends Mira a message saying “See you soon.” As it turns out, he’s also in Japan, and he has a score to settle.

Arthur Finch Literally the person he hates the most, Milo desires nothing more than to see him in agony before suffering a cruel death. He had to conceal his feelings about him for the longest time, which has made him bitter and seething with rage. Although Arthur has done nothing to really provoke him, it’s his ties and his ignorance that makes him a target for his anger. He knows he’s planting Arthur as his scapegoat, but as their relationship remains, his feelings only grow worse. Once Mira and Arthur have left the US to Japan, Milo comes to the realization that Arthur is actually going to pull his last family member away from him, so he has no choice now but to enact his revenge as soon as possible before he loses his twin.

Ken Kaneki Milo looks down on him, mostly to piss off a certain someone. In reality, he feels nothing toward Ken, if only because Milo has issues connecting with a lot of people.

Touka Kirishima He tolerates her as much as he possibly can, just because he sees how much she means to his sibling… But he doesn’t trust her at all.

Shuu Tsukiyama At first, Milo despised him as a privileged ghoul, but after seeing how the two have similar goals (Tsukiyama wanting Arthur out of the picture once he gets closer to Ken), the two have a silent alliance to each other that gets them to spend more time with each other. However, this gets Milo to grow a subtle obsession with Tsukiyama, to the point he gets constantly angry about it and has no idea what to do with himself.

What are some of Mira's and Milo's healthy and unhealthy habits?

ooooo thank u for the question! i'll give three for each piece but there may be more parts that aren't as obvious

Mira

Healthy:

Art in general! They have a bunch of different things they can be working on at one time and it helps distract when they keep obsessing over things.

They get outside a lot to explore. Are they good with directions? Debatable but not important in this context!

They know better than anyone that self-isolating does not help, so they more than likely to be hanging out with someone when they have low moods/intense stressors so they don't engage in their unhealthy habits.

Unhealthy:

Emotional regulation comes in changing up their appearance. New hair style, hair color(s), later on piercings and tattoos.

Skin picking. They will do it until they bleed and leave scabs, and since they heal faster, it means they can be on a repeated cycle until they find something else to fiddle with.

Biting also helps self-regulate. They have an accessory they sometimes wear when they're more stressed to assist them, otherwise they will bite their fingers to the point of breaking skin.

Milo

Healthy:

He tends to focus on self-care. A lot. He focuses on making sure his hair is nice and pretty, his skin is soft, and that he's in his relaxed zone with a good book (it's Bram Stoker's Dracula usually, but he will occasionally read his terrible condition Interview with the Vampire).

An open book on how he feels, he will not hesitate to tell you he likes or doesn't like something. He's also not afraid to communicate such at any given opportunity. The only time he's ever vague or passive aggressive is if he's communicated this want/need several times and has felt unheard.

Because he cares about his physical form, he workouts frequently. Not that it's easy to see under his attire (and that is on purpose), but he's got a good muscle build that he makes sure to maintain and does not skip leg day.

Unhealthy:

He will ghost people... For weeks. Months if the situation is that bad. Self-isolation and him are besties at this point.

Because he's open with his emotions, he will be nasty and mean to someone he doesn't like, willing to burn bridges before a connection can be made. He doesn't care if that comes to bite him later, he reasons it'll save him from suffering if he's upfront about it.

Don't put money in front of his face, he will spend it all within an afternoon. Worst idea one could have.

i think it's so funny that milo hates @oneeyedsparrow's arthur so much, but in our story, it makes sense how he'd irrationally hate him.

like, if your father was wrongly convicted of being a murderer, only to have your father killed and mother imprisoned, and then find the child of the person who allowed the execution and imprisonment? yeah, i wouldn't want to associate with that guy either.

and to add insult to injury, your sibling initially hated him too but then became besties. like this has to be a nightmare.
