What to do while your military SO is away: -workout -read -join a club sport -study -run -write (to your SO or just for yourself!) -bake -go out with friends -rearrange your room -redecorate -paint -take up photography -ANYTHING THAT MAKES YOU HAPPY AND HOPEFULLY PASSES TIME WHILE YOUR SO IS AWAY. **just make sure you're doing something, don't sit and wait for him/her. go out, keep yourself busy & the waiting won't seem too much like forever. Here I am hoping you and you SO reunite real soon. ❤️

So soon I will be going to Japan to finally be with my husband which I can’t even put into words how excited I am. Even though I’m nervous about having no support out there besides my loving husband, & not having any clue about the language no matter how hard I try to learn it, (lol it’s truly a pathetic attempt), I am absolutely dying to get there. We have been married for almost a year & I have never lived on a base. The unknowns of life on the base are kind of scary, but I would love to hear any information about the daily life there & the kinds of facilities & activities there are, or especially any memorable experiences anyone has had living on their first base. The fear I have most of all is the medical staff & treatment available. I am a Type I Diabetic & an Epileptic. I never complain about these conditions & work very hard to make sure they don’t affect my life, but I really am concerned about this one aspect of this huge move. Would love to hear from any other Milsos about their experiences on their first time being on a base. I also am terrified for packing the fear that I’ll leave behind something so important or not pack accordingly. Any advice, experience & stories would be so very much appreciated! 😄

NAVY MILSO IN NEED OF INPUT :)

So my boyfriend just got word that he got accepted to a next duty station in MTOC-1 Jacksonville Florida and I just wanna hear any input from anyone I follow that either has lived in that area or been stationed there (service member or milso perspective). 

I also would like to know what are the deployment intervals like? How many times a year would my SO have to be deployed and for how long? He is an IT, if that helps any.

Is it a nice place to be as a couple? Maybe even as fiances? 

I'd really really REALLY appreciate input on this because I am graduating from college in the next semester and if God allows it, will be leaving with him in August of 2015. Its a really huge thing for us <3.

CALLING ALL MILSOS, I need help LOL

So my boyfriend and I are planning on leaving together next year when his time is up here on Guam (August 2015). He's offered me a bunch of next duty station options and we've narrowed it down to Whidbey Island, Washington and Naples, Italy. 

I'm not sure if this helps but he's an IT. He's expecting to be promoted to Petty Office 2nd Class pretty soon too. On the other hand, I am graduating from college by May 2015 with a B.A. in Elementary Education. And I am contemplating a Master's degree wherever we end up. And we're not engaged OR married yet. But it is pretty serious.

Anyway. I just wanted to get input from any of you milsos out there who have been at either or both of these places.

I'd like to know what it was like for YOU, as an individual. What it was like for HIM, in the Navy. And what it was like for BOTH of you, as a couple.

What was living at either places like?
